'A source close to Westley said she regretted the comment and that at the time she did not know Waters’ beliefs, which she did not support or endorse, and believed were “reprehensible”.' If we're giving Naz Shah the benefit of the doubt over unfortunate Tweets, we have to do the same thing here. Labour seem to have forgiven Stormzy's previous homophobic Tweets because he apologised and he's banging the Corbyn drum.

If we're giving Naz Shah the benefit of the doubt over unfortunate Tweets, we have to do the same thing here. Labour seem to have forgiven Stormzy's previous homophobic Tweets because he apologised and he's banging the Corbyn drum. Not aplogised for any of this. Lovely people Before the tweet was sent, Waters had been recorded while standing for Ukip in the 2015 general election calling for mosques to be closed and for a complete halt on all Muslim immigration to the UK. She was also barred by Ukip from standing for the party in the 2016 London assembly elections because of her role in Pegida. Westley has close links to the UK branch of Turning Point (TPUK), a pro-Donald Trump youth movement that has been accused in the US of anti-Islam views and connections to racism. She attended the first UK meeting of TPUK and is close to several of its members. The group has been backed by some Conservatives, among them Jacob Rees-Mogg and Priti Patel, both of whom are new members of the Johnson government. TPUK is headed by George Farmer, a Conservative donor and son of a Tory peer, who has been pictured socialising with Paul Joseph Watson, a senior editor at the far-right conspiracy theory website Infowars, and has frequently retweeted him. Farmer has called the London mayor, Sadiq Khan, a “grade A twat” and a “virtue signalling cuck”. In June, Westley appeared in a mock-comedy TPUK video called “Shit champagne socialists say”. She moved to No 10 from the lobby group Taxpayers’ Alliance, which claims to be an independent grassroots campaign representing British taxpayers but refuses to identify its donors. Last year, it emerged that the group, part of a rightwing network that promotes free-market capitalism around the world, received hundreds of thousands of dollars in overseas donations, including $100,000 originating from a billionaire-founded religious trust incorporated in the Bahamas. This week, Westley tweeted that she hoped a Johnson government would abolish the TV licence, start a “bonfire of unnecessary quangos” and launch a “pro-freedom” budget.

How does it go no one was ever killed by a tweet, meanwhile of course its perfectly ok jezza being mates and going on trips paid for by actual murdering racists like hamas etc A labour shadow cabinet minister this week forced to apologise for anti semitic remarks but remember kids its only 0.0002% of the membership or some such bollocks but surprisingly seems to be 60-70% of mps selected by racist grandpa.

All hail this diverse cabinet eh? The sheer disingenuous of this though, her appeal was refused, the fact she was in a "coma" is not relevant, these cases are assessed and a decision is made it just so happened the letter was received when she was ill, they will then of course milk it for all the publicity understandable but the idea they knew or threatened to deport her while she was in hospital is laughable.

Anyone have any idea about this supposed deal that Trump says we're working on with them. A deal that will apparently lead to 3 to 4 times as much trade as now.
Someone mentioned yesterday that it included allowing US privatisation of the NHS.
In which case, say goodbye to free healthcare.
Sure that will go down well.

PS the nhs isnt free now the NHS is in the process of being privatised already, but we will see a big push on it now I reckon. Mental Health is a prime candidate, two large private companies have taken over billions of pounds of mental health contracts to provide residential 'care'. The only problem being that they pay shit wages..have done away with unsocial hours allowance..and have about 10,000 unfilled vacancies. Oh and they're accepting the most complex, difficult cases, because that's where the money is. Poorly paid inexperienced staff dealing with the most complex cases. What could possibly go wrong?

Dead right. Nights on minimum wage (not with this company) is no fun, I tell you. Loads of responsibility for crap money, and shit treatment from management. Couple that with maybe 80% of the available work being in care and it's not a pretty picture for the working class.

The Police in some areas say that mental health is now a factor in nearly 30% of all arrests. 20,000 police (which Johnson voted to cut on every occasion incidentally) maybe a headline grabber but virtually pointless without joined up thinking across the piece. If Johnson wants to be viewed as a serious politician, he should stop the grandstanding with ridiculous numbers and address the problem seriously.

When I was on the beat in the late 70s, early 80s there were a lot of " mental health" issues that i/we had to deal with even back then. I can remember taking the same woman with Alzheimer's back to her bungalow many times after she wandered off, a man in Hartshill who used to ask for me personally because I would listen to him....a rod for my own back, some people would ring the station almost every day for what amounted to a chat, a lot of loneliness about. Salvation army in Liverpool Road were brilliant at dealing with homelessness( rough sleeping is probably more accurate)..

All hail this diverse cabinet eh? Deport her or fly her home to continue care closer to home? I'm sure her family will benefit from being able to visit her more often. I know it's harsh but if a person is in the UK illegally or any country for that matter then I have no issues in deporting folk. Just because she is ill should not rule out a hospital flight back home. For the sake on the NHS I'm glad her travel insurance are covering the cost of her first class care while here. I wish her a speedy recovery and well

If Johnson wants to be viewed as a serious politician, he should stop the grandstanding with ridiculous numbers and address the problem seriously. Mate I retired in Dec 2017 and I can tell you it's a massive problem for the police. Police officers have a duty of care to protect and preserve life and can not walk away from anyone who may have MH problems. The hospitals can social services can they make an assessment and more often than not they are left to carry on. The next day police are back and so it goes over and over again, ive detained people using the mental health act day after day take them to the Harplands only for them be released within 24hrs. If a police officer were to leave a person who was expressing self harm or suicide thoughts and they came to harm they would be sacked. The social care side are snowed under and see things different with diffent protection to the police. They say ah he/she will be fine we won't section them and off they pop!! Hrs later they ring up with I'm going to jump of the bridge on the A500 and the whole process starts again. It is beyond a joke and needs a health service to work better to try and reduce the demand. It was so heavy that we "employed" a mental health specialist to patrol with police to help!!!! All they did was go from one incident to another never stopped and even that is not enough. Now this is where I might lose some we have some complete wasters who's life revolves around self harm and 'killing" themselves, they never do and never hurt themselves too bad, scratches etc. The police have to go to everyone who calls, there needs to be a filter where we say enough now go to your GP in the morning or fo to the A&E but that needs protection for officers which does not exist atm.

Seems like after October 31st Corbyn or Swinson needs to use their skills to force a general election and to put forward a manifesto that is so attractive and believable that the country can get rid of this vicious nasty lot. Unless they don't turn out to be as bad/ extreme as expected in terms of policies that they are able to implement( irrespective of their personal beliefs/ characters)..... for example some of the law abiding electorate may welcome a stricter justice system.
