Are there any stats on this ?
My sense has been for 2 or 3 seasons now the South Stand end would be well ahead and last season was no exception.
If my supposition is correct I think it has more to do with the fact that what precious few goals we do score come in the first half and then we sit back and invite the opposition on rather than anything to do with the ends themselves.
I'll stick my neck out and say we didn't score more than a dozen goals at the Boothen End in the league last season in total ?!
Yes I know , but it's a quiet news week !

You might be right Gods. I sit in block 27 and I always seem to be straining my neck looking left. I think swivel chairs are the answer.

My round trip to home games is about 460 miles and during the relegation season I'm pretty sure I went nearly six months and goodness inows how many miles without a goal at the Boothen End, Not much better this season.
Not that my old man agrees with such naming conventions he insists on saying the South stand is nearer to Boothen, maybe that's the problem.

Amazing isn't it, my round trip is 400 miles so I go to more away than home but if I've seen 5 goals at the Boothen in 2 seasons I'd be surprised. Seems like there are no stats, I suppose you'd have to compare our 1st and 2nd half home goals and just assume we attacked the South Stand first half.

My round trip is about 2 miles and the only goals I can remember at the Boothen end is Ryan's against Sheff Utd and Afobe against Nottingham (i think it was them). Granted my memory is terrible, but I feel like the goals are always at the other end which is shite because I can barely see that end

Would be a reasonable way of working it out, I can’t remember the last time we were ‘turned around’? I’m sure somebody with plenty of time could work out the ratio on this basis đŸ™‚

It's because the South Stand is, geographically, the Boothen End! The Boothen End is the Stoke/Town End!

Three of our last four goals came in front of the Boothen.

I just did the maths, 15 of our 26 home league goals last season cake in front of the Boothen, including both against Leeds, Blackburn, and Norwich.
Weird thread!

Bugger off Daftbugger, you've even got me scratching my head here. The Boothen End as is now now is in the same place as what the Stoke End was at The Vic. We've turned the 365 arse about backards. LOL. OSx Edit. Just worked it out. You're right. Heh heh. Ps. Re the thread. I sit in The Boothen and I haven't seen a goal scored for about 15 years. There's a couple of massive and tall Zebedees in front of me who always spring up just as the ball gets into the box and the next thing I know is the crowd are roaring. Then I have to ask one of my grandsons, "Have we scored?"

Comparing with The Victoria Ground - Maybe it is the side stands that are incorrect? Swap them over and you get the Main Stand to the left of the Boothen and the other side (Butler Street) to the right. Also You would then have the car parks to the rear of the right hand stand - just like at The Vic. The executive boxes would also need to not be in the main stand to replicate the Vic.

Is this when the round thing goes past those white structures with the netting? No, that's when Charlie Adam steps into the goal to have a sip from the keeper's water bottle.

Sorry to be a stickler but that’s really not sticking your neck out.. 12 goals would represent just over a quarter of our total goals scored last season, ie more or less the exact proportion of time spent attacking that goal...

There is definitely 1 goal at each end, except in the pre match warm up when there is one of them portable goals that folds up into a canvas bag at the Boothen End.
