Would he come here as a number 2, or has he been made a guarantee?

Would he come here as a number 2, or has he been made a guarantee? Think the original Martin Spinks story clarified he was definitely coming in as No.1 - and they were completely resigned to Butland leaving.

Would he come here as a number 2, or has he been made a guarantee? That's what I was thinking. I think NJ said he wanted 3 keepers in his squad - so if Jack leaves that'll leave us needing another 1 unless he fancies Gyollai or Bursik. EDIT - NJ: βI like to work with a squad of 23. Three goalkeepers, 20 outfield players, supplemented slightly with a few younger ones to see where they are in pre-season. But moving forward, we want to work with 20, two in every position for real competition.β

we only announce signings on a friday! some things never change it really must be that someone only works part time on a friday who has a hand in announcing these deals, because it can't just always be a coincidence

Bit short for a keeper, isn't he? 1.85m according to wiki, that's virtually a midget by modern keeping standards. Wiki has Jack at 1.96 and you don't think of him as a particularly tall keeper do you ?

Played for the Tea Men in the NASL after his career in England.

Gyollai has gone hasnβt he? He has, I missed that: Class from the boy to be fair - actually looked a decent enough keeper from what Ive seen, would have kept him as no.3 to be honest. All the best to him, would be a good shout for a league 2/top end of the conference club

Nearly every one of those saves was parried back in to a dangerous area and required either another save, a last ditch clearance or a last ditch block. Two very important attributes which a goalkeeper needs include; 1. Stopping the ball going between those white sticks (however he does it) 2. Giving confidence to those directly in front of him If he can do that he ainβt a bad goalkeeper βIfβ he signs I think we should wait and see if (a) heβs come as no 1 and (b) if he is no 1, how he plays over a number of games Perhaps then it would be fair to comment on his ability

He's got a very strange technique, but he's a really good keeper. Seems like his defenders have wised up to it though as there was always someone there ready to *hoof* it away!

Really think they'd of struggled to break through in this day & age as keepers are generally binned off when coming through the system these days if they're not tall enough or in other words well over 6' 0 tall.

Jack is fucking massive, Davies is small aye but taller than Casillas and the same height as the most expensive keeper in the world, Kepa. Can be good for getting down to the low shots too.

Most sports have gone this way, basket ball players used to be 6'4" bean poles, now they are 6'10" brick outhouse, ditto rugby players, forwards have gone from 14 stone to 18 stone to even compete

Hi
According to the local paper in Barnsley, The Chronicle it says you lot are likely to sign him.
On Davies. Decent goalkeeper but he's got a lot of mistakes in him. I've looked through the thread and I see some of you are commenting on Butland's distribution but from what I remember Butland was a 100 times better than Davies whilst he was on loan a few years ago.
I understand that you won't care what I say or believe me when I say I'm looking forward to a new goalkeeper coming in that fits the model Stendel wants. European style goalkeeper.
Anyway, I will leave you with this.

As he signed yet...???? As he fuck....!!!!!! Scholes is just finishing off tying up a few clauses into his contract. * A 97.3% relegation wage reduction clause * A further 36% failure to be promoted back in the first attempt wage reduction clause, player owes SCFC 33.3% of original wage per week clause * player must not complain or down tools if certain players are offered new contracts reinstating their original wages and Davies isn't, thus can result in instant fines to player .. Only a few niggles

Some dreadful defending there, which is weird as I thought your centre backs were well thought of?!
