Fan Mail - The FSF Newsletter (June 2008)
The Great People Football SurveyThe FSF has teamed up with People Sport to bring you The Great People Football Survey - and we'd really appreciate your views.
The People is conducting an extensive investigation to find out exactly what you think of our "beautiful" game.
This is one of the most wide-ranging surveys ever undertaken, because they want to know exactly what you, the real fans, think of our national game.
Should the England manager be English? Should we introduce video replays for referees? Do footballers earn too much money? Who is the cutest WAG?
Tell them what you love about the game, and what makes your blood boil.
There are 28 questions for you to answer, and one lucky participant will be chosen at random to win two tickets to the Premier League match of their choice next season. Or you may remain anonymous if you wish.
Please take part by clicking the link below. Many thanks!
The Italian JobAs the FSF’s profile steadily rises, Chairman Malcolm Clarke remains “Mr In-Demand” as far as the nation’s football media are concerned.
His words of wisdom on the scandalous prices which some supporters are now expected to fork out in order to watch their favourite teams were widely quoted in the English, Welsh and Scottish press last week.

Fans plan match tribute to Sir Bobby RobsonNewcastle United and Ipswich Town fans are hoping to persuade both clubs to play an annual fixture against each other, in aid of The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
“We envisage an annual pre season friendly, alternating between St James’s Park and Portman Road, with all monies from the fixtures being donated to The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation – and we currently have more than”, said Mike Jones, of Newcastle fanzine Talk of the Tyne.
“We have been liasing with Liz Edwards of the Ipswich Town Supporters’ Club, and have also come up with various other ideas, like trying to arrange a Legends match with some places in the teams for fans being auctioned off beforehand, to the highest bidders.
“We currently have more than 1600 signatures on the petition we have started, and fans can support us by signing up at gopetition.co.uk and there’s a website at sbrf-appeal.co.uk which has links to various sites who are backing us.”

Cracked it?FSF NC member Phill Gatenby is set to appear on the BBC’s hit tea-time TV quiz show Eggheads – and, no, we’re not yolking…
As head honcho of the FSF’s Safe Standing campaign, NC member Phill Gatenby has got so used to the demands made on his time by the media that he’s borderline blasé about appearing on the telly. But that could all be about to change...

The Football SupporterThe deadline for contributions to the next issue of our members’ magazine The Football Supporter is fast approaching. So if you have anything you’d like considered for inclusion in the FSF’s flagship magazine, please let us have your copy by 5.30pm on Monday, June 16.
Also, if you lead a much more interesting life than us and know any famous people whose careers might benefit from the kind of multi-media exposure which only tfs’ celebrated Dear Famous Celebrity feature can provide, please drop us a line at tfs@fsf.org.uk
And, should you be in a position to send us any free stuff, please do so as soon as possible. Currently top of our wanted list are some of those nice, healthy vitamin drinks to stock the office fridge with. Plus a pocket calculator so tfs editor Peter Daykin can work out his WeightWatchers points properly.
