Second easiest three points they've won this season then. If it was our game that was scrapped we'd end up settling for a 0-0 from the FA. 😀

Won't that unfairly affect the prize money of the teams that Brentford go above? Preston and Hull in this instance.

I think we may be partly responsible for Bolton’s problems They never really recovered after that semi

I think we may be partly responsible for Bolton’s problems They never really recovered after that semi It's actually true - they also never recovered from a draw with us the final game the season after which saw them relegated - and I have often wondered how such a poor team could get as far as the semifinals. If Pulis hadn't been in such a good mood that morning he would have settled for a no score draw going into penalties, and who knows what would have happened then. I remember reading prematch articles on what an outstanding manager Owen Coyle was. He too never recovered - although they did beat us 5-0 in their relegation season - and has had an assortment of lowend management jobs, but has been out of work for a year or two now.

All Championship clubs receive the same fixed amount no matter what position they finish in. # I didn't know that - much fairer method IMHO. Premiership model means the rich buy the best players, are better, finish higher, get more TV money. Presumably because most clubs in the Champ hope to climb out of it each individual club has less power and therefore the big clubs can't use the threat of a breakaway to take all the TV money

Can only see things getting a lot worse for Bolton next season.Could possibly start with a points deduction and attracting players is going to be very difficult for them. Can see them facing another relegation battle next season.Don't wish it on them as always liked away days at Burndern Park but in the next 3 to 4 seasons they could become the biggest club to ever grace non-league football.

Doesn't help with their new owner having such a reputation as well. Southampton were in a similar ( not quite as bad) situation a few years back but their new owners did wonders. As you say, Bolton look in serious difficulties and the immediate future looks really bleak. Quite surprised Bassini has been given the green light but not sure of the whole deal but after the Watford shenanigans he doesn't strike you as someone you'd want in charge of your club.
