You'll find almost all manufacturers of football shirts do this.
They're used as a base, then adjustments can be made from there. Adidas do it, Nike do it, Under Armour etc...

Or if you do like it, you can always wait for the end of season sale where they get rid for £12.

That's one thing I will say about our designs, whilst of course having red and white stripes and the same badges and sponsors which you'd expect at least Macron have changed the design and style of each of our home shirts in the 4x years they've supplied us to date. On the current release yes the collar may be abit different and appear strange at first glance but at least it makes it different from the rest. Infact it's a design that I can't say I've seen any team use before so it's as bespoke as you can get. Footy merchandise particularly the kits is a captive market and the club's know this. Whilst £48 to me is quite steep, the prices of shirts in the UK are far cheaper than clubs in Europe charge. If in Amsterdam you could easily pay in excess of £75 for a shirt alone. Unless I get it as a present I'll likely just wait until the sales are on as I don't overly wear them anyway, get much more use out the Training wear.

In other sports such as Ice Hockey and American Football shirts can cost £150+ Some of the "authentic" baseball shirts cost even more!

New shirts £48 for a short sleeve!! This steep or we just catching up with prices other clubs charge for their tops? I was in Seville last week, picked up my lad a shirt, badges on the sleeve, no name or number. 75 Euro's. I think we just have to accept that prices go up. I would say £48 is below the going rate for a football shirt.

I quite like the collar and the buttons, would prefer a white collar with red buttons but maybe that's because i'm a fop and a dandy

Just looking at the kits. The away looks better in the flesh. And you can unbutton the home shirt collar.

Put it this way, the club selling this season's shirt for a tenner would have still made a profit.

An £80 pair of jeans would be of substantially better quality. If football shirts were made of decent material then it might be worth it.

Only bonus is that kids footy shirts do generally get well worn and are constantly in and out of the wash & do tend to last.. I'm fortunate coz my daughter's don't care for the current strip (yet anyway!) they're more than happy wear anything with a Stoke badge on it so they'll still wear previous seasons kits & I won't get them this seasons till either the Christmas sale starts or when they try to flog everything off around March/April time. Can feel for parents whose kids have to be seen in the latest gear tho coz must real add up!

You’ll probably find they cost about £8-10 each to actually produce, if that.

Lad has had the away kit today. It's odd, to put it lightly.
Lad loves it though and it is of good quality. Badges on the front of the top and shorts are rubber. Stick on on the sides of the sleeves and shorts.

Yeah, but theirs look decent. What half-wit signed off that collar? PMSL, what an absolute shocker.

My elder brother has already worn one. Stoke went to Gladstone where he works and took some photos of him wearing it whilst he threw some pots by hand. He isn't interested in football so couldn't give me any ideas of what it was like. Why does a lack of interest in football prevent him from describing an item of clothing? I'm not into S&M but I could describe a gimp mask if someone made me wear one. You don't know my brother. He is in the Twitter video about 6/7 in standing in front of some metal gates at Gladstone.
