Can't be, there's no mention from the nation's favourite broadcaster.

The only mention I've seen on the Beeb was from Carol the weather woman (and she's Scottish !).
There's been a marked lack of any mention at all elswehere.
It's bloody disgusting how it's seemingly considered to be something to be ashamed of to be English !
HAPPY ST. GEORGE'S DAY EVERYONE !

Apparently our glorious leader has sent a message to all those celebrating and St George's Cross is flying above No.10. Other than that, not much else.
Edit: and Classic FM have been playing some Elgar this morning....

You can sell much more Guinness on St patricks day through good advertising. I'm wearing my St george's (Ben Sherman) polo shirt as normal today

St Georges Day has been a complete non event in this country for donkey's years, it's only been a thing quite recently. And when I say a thing, I mean it's just a few people moaning about it not being a thing.

I'll be celebrating St George's Day by complaining that no-one is doing anything to celebrate St George's Day while simultaneously not doing anything to celebrate St George's Day.

Venerating saints, how medieval... If there was a day off in it I might be more interested.

His dad was from Turkey, his mum from Syria .
He died in Palestine.
A Muslim and Jewish prophet who never went to England.
But still popular on this board.
Things might be changing...

Well all this country information is contradictory, so I'm guessing he didn't even exist. I think dragons might be a clue to this. Barely any saints are local to the country they represent. And people celebrate a national day more than they do the actual saint. The saint of choice is largely irrelevant. St Patrick was not Irish. And they seem to have a good time celebrating being Irish. Not much focus on Patrick.

Fun fact: Due to the overlapping of Easter, St Georges day and St Mark’s day, the actual date this year is the 29th of April. Church of England official.

What's going on with the black flag? Brilliant! It’s not some sort of ISIS statement, it’s a St George’s cross, but whatever you view the Oatcake through doesn’t recognise it, so gives you a black flag 😂

Guessing you're on Safari or something?
