We've lost 13 which is only 1 more defeat than Leeds United.
We're on for potentially 22 draws if we can hold it together in the last 2 games.
Looking back through the history books 23 draws is the most for a 46 game season and that has happened 3 times but never in the Championship and not this century:
Exeter City (from 46 games, Fourth Division, 1986–87) Hartlepool United (from 46 games, Third Division, 1997–98) Cardiff City (from 46 games, Third Division, 1997–98)
I wonder if we may be on for a Championship draw record?

For whatever reason 43 goals scored is crap and would normally put us in the bottom 5. As good a performance in the second half today its two defenders scoring. The 20 draws have preserved our status but of course were never going to support a play off challenge

Should also mention Norwich City who impressively managed 23 draws in a 42 game season in 78/79.

The points we threw away from winning positions is a real killer. After Aston Villa away people seemed pleased with it. But we threw away two leads.

How many did we take the lead in, and how many did we come from behind?

Yes, if you want the feel good factor then it's much more fun to twice come from behind like we did yesterday than feel you pissed it all up the wall like it did against Villa!

8 x 0-0 4 x 1-1 8 x 2-2
Of the twelve score draws, there were five where we only led, five where we only trailed, and two where we both led and trailed. In both of the games we both led and trailed (Reading (A), QPR (H)) we conceded the decisive equaliser, so in a way you can say we earned five points and gave away fourteen.

If we had won half and lost the other half we’d have an extra 10 points

If you only consider seasons since “The Championship” was branded as such (in 04-05), there have only been six teams who have drawn 20 or more. Weirdly, four of the six were in the first two Championship seasons and we’re the first team to do it in 9 seasons! Wolves: 21 in 04-05 Leicester: 21 in 04-05 PNE: 20 in 05-06 Derby: 20 in 05-06 Swansea: 20 in 08-09 Ipswich: 20 in 09-10 So one more draw ties the record in Championship and two more draws clinches the record outright! By the way, we drew 16 times in our promotion season.

Excellent work, Walrus, thank you. And just for the sake of saying, if we hadn't have given away those 14 points, we would be vying with Boro & Frank Lampard FC on 67 points. Goal difference would still be a crippler though.

Plus with confidence higher more goals may have got scored.

If ifs and and ands.. Seriously though this season has been a real drudge and the amount of draws we've had is another example of that. Hopefully we can get it right over the summer and make the next one significantly better.

Imagine if only half had been the full 3 points?
Something positive to dwell on for the summer break
At least Jones is trying to make us hard to beat again if nothing else

20 draws tells you, with a bit more cutting edge up front, we ctu to ould have got a lot more points
We are not getting battered, but we need a goal scorer to tip the balance
Maybe NJ will sign us two from Luton Town? I don't know
I do know the changes we make up top will define our season
A bit more cutting edge up top and we are totally in business.
More of the same and we are a non runner
