Reading 3 Stoke 4 at Elm Park (a night game- Steino’s second I think)- the Reading CentreHalf smashed the winner into his own net right in front of the Stoke fans. Year after we were the champs! “You’ll never beat McPherson...” 😀

Stoke 2-0 Tranmere Rovers, 7th December 1996. My first Stoke game and only game at the Vic. I smile every time I think about it! That's one of my favourites too. I was mascot that day for my 40th birthday.

1982, Stoke 2:0 Arsenal. Was the first game I ever attended on my own, well with a couple of friends rather than my Granddad. Berry scored in the first few minutes. Was his debut wasn't it? Chamberlain also. Think O'Callaghan got the second

Tottenham away. Fullers mazy run down the wing and Glenn with a fucking peach of a goal. Cue one of the best mentals I've ever been a part of. I still don't know how I found my seat after that. All of the above!!! And the 2-1 win over Tottenham in a FA Cup 3R replay on 24 January 1976 (minus the Butler Street roof) cos it was my first ever visit to the Vic!!!

Stoke 2-0 Man City.
It all clicked that game. One of the most effortless games I’ve seen us win in the prem. We really were at the pinnacle at that game I think.

3 - 3 at Oakwell on Boxing day 2007 - great comeback and a brace for Liam in think - ace mental.... Something like a 96th minute penalty to make it 3-3 I think.

There was a game against a decent Wolves side in our first season at the Brit, which, to everyone’s complete astonishment, we won 3-0. Always sticks in the mind as a little glittering jewel in amongst oceans of stinking manure that season.

We beat them and it was considered to be a corher turned after a minor blip.

What’s your favourite game that wasn’t a big occasion? For me at home to Huddersfield in Dec 92. Great times, great atmosphere and A Cranson thunderbolt too. 3v0 I think That whole season was amazing for me. Night match when cranson scored the thunderbolt. Ace goal. But the west brom games for me were the most memorable. Cranson scoring the winner in the 4-3. Absolutely amazing game. I went the away game, must have been 8-9 thousand in standing. We won 2-1. Looking back at some old footage of that. The ref was either a stoke fan or wolves fan. Also we did them in the auto glass. Night mate 2 late stein goals. It was just let's all have a disco for the whole of the second half. God I miss the Vic

20th August 1975, Stoke 2 - 2 Wolves. Wolves took the lead end of the first half. Normally dad would make me leave 5 minutes before the end of the match as he had a dodgy hip & didn't like being pushed about in the crowd when leaving. 5 minutes to go, we were all over them. I asked dad if we were off, he said no, we're going to score. Richards scored for them on a breakaway almost on the full time whistle. I got up ready to go, dad said sit down we're still in this. Time up & little prospect of much injury time, but I sat for the novelty of seeing the end of the game. Danny Bowers (remember him?) got one back almost straight from the kick off. 1-2 but the game was surely over. Then with the ref ready to blow for time, Terry Conroy got the equalizer. Pandemonium. I've never seen my dad so ecstatic, leaping about like a gazelle despite his gammy hip.
My favourite game just for that, never mind the amazing comeback.

Stoke 4-1 Fulham in 2014. We were fucking unreal that day against a Fulham side scrapping for everythinf. Dan Burn asked Assaidi to switch wings, Arnautovic thumped one in in front of the Boothen. Life went on after Pulis. Real feel good times. Agreed, my lad was mascot that day too. Some of the most exciting football I've seen us play with Arnie, Assaidi and Odemwingie up top

Stoke 3 - 2 Millwall - 00/01 season (edit: Thorne scored 2 )
Neil Harris put them ahead after about 20 seconds an Iweluno got the winner with a diving/tumbling header in injury time after a real sparring match.

Luton away under Boskamp.
2-1 up in the 84th, 2-2 in the 88th, we win a free kick near the halfway line, Boskamp gets up from the bench, urges everyone forwards, the ball is launched in to the box and their Centre Half Coyne puts it in his own net.
Absolute carnage in the away end as the players run over to celebrate with the fans, topped off by Peter Sweeney swan diving in to the first few rows of Stokies as the first few rows are below pitch level.
Top day.

I think you are conflating 2 games there. It was the game on 15th February 1975 where we came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with 2 injury time goals. The scoring in the 2-2 draw in August 1975 went 0-1, 1-1, 1-2, 2-2 and TC's equaliser came just before the hour mark. The 2-2 draw in Frebruary 1975 was memorable both for the lateness of the goals (which took us to the top of the table) but also because the equaliser was Eric Skeels' first goal for about 6 years.

I won't choose the Coventry (A) game in promotion season as it was a huge game for us.
In 05/06 we beat Ipswich 4-1 away and I really recall us playing brilliantly in the second half, IIRC Hendrie and Darel Russell absolutely bossed it and the whole team was superb.

Ah, you may be right AlliG. The slightly unreliable memories of a 9 year old. Who also remembers Skeelsy picking up the ball on the edge of our box, dribbling 250 yards & beating every Wolves player twice, backtracking to the half way line doing keepy uppies, flicking the ball up and heading it in from 50 yards. As recreated in the back garden by yours truly on numerous occasions. (the back garden recreation may differ slightly from actual events).
Dad's mental is clear in my memory, though :-)
