Why, did Tiny Penis pay for Clayton Wood? I could have sworn it was Peter Coates. Would he have been so willing if we’d have stayed in the championship? Not on your Nellie. nail you hit the on head the. Rearrange to suit Some people don't possess this logic unfortunately.

Did I fall asleep? Has Nathan been here before? - must have missed that one! In a different form. He's back as the 5.0 V12 950BHP version. He's going to bring back the BUZZ.

This obsession with Pulis needs to stop
Jones isn't like TP for me. He's tried several different systems, he's played young players, he's talked positively and not aware of him headbutting his own players.

We'd have had 11 years of this shit without TP, not to mention none of the facilities we have now (Clayton Wood etc.) Everything we have now was built off the back of the success he bought to the club. Ain't that the truth. 16 managers in 23 years failed to take us back to the promised land as we washed aimlessly around between divisions 2 and 3. Most people in the kingdom had long since forgotten we even existed. It was TP who finally took us up but much more kept us there in those fiendishly difficult early years. The Fa Cup Final, the European run, the long throw, Ricardo Fuller, let's all do the Wenger, crazy days He gave us our pride back. History will judge him kindly.

True, but TP was the only manager during that period who had decent financial backing. He didn't fare much better when funds weren't forthcoming. Lou Macari almost took us to the Premier League when we didn't have a pot to piss in.

The academy was opened in 1998. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoke_City_F.C._Under-23s_and_AcademyTony Pulis's first appointment started in 2002 and ended in 2005. He was reappointed in 2006. This is a list of early academy players: www.transfermarkt.co.uk/stoke-city/jugendarbeit/verein/512 Obviously the success Pulis brought meant that money was generated to invest in academy facilities. Whether that investment has paid off is still up for debate. I don't think TP, Hughes and Rowett were greatly interested. Lambert can be excused as he had major problems on his hands trying to avoid relegation. Whereas I think Jones is genuinely interested in developing young players, whether with us or out on loan.

Pulis's best achievement was keeping us up those first two years for me rather than getting us up but if Macari had got us up in 96 it would have been the greatest managerial feat in our history bar none.

In the world of football managers, that is praise indeed. It puts him in the same category as Revie, Clough, Shankly, Ferguson and Dalglish to name but a few " absolute cunts" Shankly, Clough? Sort yourself out, were you around in those days? Yes very much so. I was around when Shankly was at Huddersfield and Cloughie was still playing.

I was drinking the magnificent Joules last night. Doesn't need any additives.

I love NJ, but there will only ever be one TP! And rightly so, just as there is also only one TW or one LM or one NJ. At the end of the day, my sincere hope is always that the current Stoke Manager does so well that it absolutely obliterates previous managers’ achievements into inconsequential nothingness! C’Mon Natty, make it so!

So am I , it's absolute madness. I think things will change when TP is no longer managing our competitors, only then will he take his true place in our history.

The problem with this post - whether the bit about Jones or the digression about Pulis - is the mutually exclusive either/or nature of the opinions. In both cases it's ridiculous to see either manager as either being a demi-god or the devil incarnate. Pulis did great things for this club but he also played some of the most soul destroying football I've ever witnessed. Equally all this crap about believing and having faith in Jones is scary. I'm hopeful he'll do great things - but when it turns out he has blind spots and weaknesses (which is a cast iron certainty) it's no reason for damning him as a failure.
Jones can do without both the adulation and the impatience. Hes not the Messiah - altogether now....

What a load of bollocks, had more guts in his little fingure than the pussies on here. Stubborn and unimaginative he may be but lacking courage would only be said by a bellend.
