Would make a lot of sense.. much-needed Prem experience for Villa and if I was him I’d rather go there than Bournemouth All day long....

For me, the question is not where Butland ends up, but what will we do with money? History suggests our track record is patchy at best. Wall up it the piss. We will probably buy whelan back for £29 million

It’d be a massive come down for him but if they offer the money they can have him. We need an auction. Why would it be a massive come down for him to go to Villa?

Because they’re a newly promoted team who need a massive rebuild to be competitive and probably won’t have their star striker from this season to start that with. I’d imagine he’d have been hoping for way better than Villa.

To be honest, I doubt he's that excited about a potential move to Bournemouth either.

It’s a good stepping stone potentially.

So I believe from reading this thread, but I'd imagine he'll still be hoping for one of the more glamorous clubs to show some interest. Perhaps a West Ham or a club of that ilk. Like you said, we could really do with an auction.

I wouldn't either, and I did think about putting something in brackets about saying pretty much what you already have as i was typing it. Looking at it from Jack's point of view though, and a club like West Ham are a much more appealing proposition than Bournemouth will eve be.

They are but not sure they’re in the market for a keeper like Butland. They have one that’ll be good in the league for another couple of seasons and have the luxury of getting a younger one for cheaper who they can develop.

We won't be considering a swap deal including Bego surely?
If we use our latest ploy we could have
Davies (1st choice) Federici (2nd) Quy (player/coach 3rd choice) he's only 42

That post to me is way off the mark, no way will stoke have the gk coach as an onfield option, federici wants out to play first team football aswell. There is every chance for the 3 to be bego, Davies & the young lad

And I’m absolutely certain Davies won’t be swapping the opportunity to be first choice at Barnsley in the Championship to sit on our bench in the Championship. If Bego is a goer then it’s got to be either him or Davies not both Shirley.

Definatly seen or heard a snippet somewhere that federici wants a move as he wants to be playing football at this stage of his career. If Davies is any good he should fancy his chances of making the number 1 spot his, nothing is guaranteed anywhere. You can see the attraction, bigger club, working with a top gk coach, better wage. Does he hang around at Barnsley or take the opportunity well its there to force his way into a bigger clubs team

The fee (and timing of the sale) will determine a lot of our summer business. www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-news-whelan-2933535Much of his future business, however, could hinge on the timing and scale of Jack Butland’s sale.

New 1 year contract for Boruc at Bournemouth and the impressive youngster Mark Travers who debuted at the end of last season would mean Butland would have plenty of competition there if he signed
