Don’t confuse effort with productivity. He worked his arse off and produced nothing, except for one decent cross. At least you can see he's trying. He puts a shift in at least. Is that what we should settle for an outlay of £6m, he puts a shift in fcuk me he's a bog standard 1st division player at best.

Don't expect world beaters and more than happy for Nathan to get a deserved pre season and get rid of the deadwood, but I'm not going to say I'm happy when I'm not regardless of whos fault it is. H I can't see you being happy for the rest of the season then tbh, I'm not saying I am either, but given the players this is probably the best we can expect until next season, for me today wasn't the worst its been and I saw improvement on recent games even if it wasn't huge. Probably not. I'm glad to see the defence solid at the very least. H

At last someone who gives an honest view on today’s game You have to take into consideration who we were playing. Reading are a very poor side. We should be winning comfortably. I suppose you can only try to beat what’s in front of you , they might be saying the same about us

I blame Pulis for this fucking be thankful for 100% effort. There is choice for a happy medium instead of dogs chasing balloons.McClean is effectively Dean Whitehead and those who never could let go of Pulis see a chance to bring that kind of football back. H

Don't sling your crap my way mate. If you're unhappy with his signing, don't get on my back about it. You saw what I said. I watched the game online and at least he made the effort. It's a team game, if everyone else put that effort in week in week out, maybe we'd start getting some goals eh?

Gross incompetence from many at the club why they are still here apart from the owners of course is a cause for concern, the process is clearly fcuked it is not working and needs changing pronto.

Obviously plenty of negatives, but there were a few positives we can cling to:
- Verlinden looked lively. Really comfortable on the ball and will hopefully keep his place in the starting line-up.
- Four clean sheets on the bounce
- Didn’t look remotely in danger until that late McCleary chance.

Same with Imbula and 2 times Berahino, still doesn't excuse that sort of out lay especially in the League we are in, our transfer team need shooting.

James McClean isn't responsible for his transfer fee. He was MOM for me today-and I despised Pulis-ball.

James McClean isn't responsible for his transfer fee. He was MOM for me today-and I despised Pulis-ball. Put in 3 balls we should have scored from. Good performance Personally thought we played ok, Vokes struggled late on as not played but a goal which we deserved would have made it into a very decent effort today as a team. Certainly vastly improved of late and a lot to take out of today I thought. Opposition not great but they set up well second half and another game undefeated.

I felt Verlinden was a bright spark and hope it encourages Jones to try a couple more youngsters between now and the end of the season .
Our defending looks pretty solid just now , problems more at the other end and for me its the same issue that we have had for the past few seasons in that we rarely go forward with any purpose , our ball movement is too slow and when we do get into attacking positions we don't get enough players in and around the other teams box to score goals .
I also hope he tries Vokes and Afobe as a pair , I don't see who can play the 10 role effectively . Ince seemed way off form again yesterday and Bojan doesn't seem able to convince any manager he is worth a run in the side , so two up front might give us some more goal threat before the end of the season . Neither Vokes or Afobe have the all round skills for the lone striker role .

Just seen the match on Quest - highlights I know, but it looked quite an improved team effort. Could have been two or three goal win. No defeats in seven and then this. Things may be turning round for the club.

Things may be turning round for the club. If that’s all you’ve seen then lucky you! Yes for 20 minutes we looked good going forward (at long last) afraid after that it was same old same old, they pushed further forward while we sat back yet again with the occasional break, no inventiveness (Verlinden aside), too many sideways and backwards “passing”, even when we had free kicks on half way the ball finished up with butland, too many players unable to control the ball, I know conditions poor but that’s been story of too many all season, they are professional footballers ffs, too many players unable to make a split second decision to make the right pass, ffs they are professional footballers!! I will stop there otherwise my blood pressure won’t stand it.

After the first 20-25 minutes we moved the ball forward way too slowly to create much. This is a sickness we've had for our last one and a half season in the PL, which didn't get any better under Rowett and it's now the same under NJ. We must get the ball faster forward to create more chances and better chances. If we keep attacking with no pace we will keep finding it hard to find the onion bag at all as we don't look very thretening on set places either.

Point taken, but previous highlights were nothing as good as this so it goes down as an improvement for me. A summer clear out and a few new faces could give a lift to the team.

McClean played well IMO.
Showed great resilience in making the Ince chance when he hit the post. If we had a few more with his attitude we'd score more goals.
I dare say he put 2/3 decent crosses in too!
Verlinden played well too, reminded me of Shaq at times, short stocky lad willing to run at players - just what we need.
Batth a wall again, what a guy - brilliant signing.

No matter, in his position we need a player who will score 10 goals per season and will assist on 20, and we have that player, but his name isn't McClean!

You've used that to try and ridicule my argument - but you've actually done the opposite. A lot of other players we have would have given up on that assuming the keeper would get it but he kept going and chased it down. Exactly the attitude and commitment, we should be looking for in all our players.
