Gordon. Where do you start? How do we honour a man who was Stoke through and through? How do we honour a man who put his neck on the line time and again for our great club and our great nation? A World Cup winner. How do we honour a man who always found time for people? Always humble, always honest, always grounded, always there. How do we honour the greatest goalkeeper of all time? Your rankings are shit, FIFA. How do we honour a hero? In an age when there aren’t many left.
A minutes applause? 3 minutes applause? No. 90 MINUTES APPLAUSE It’s the least we can do to show our respect and gratitude. So let’s give him the only fitting send off. Who's in? Be loyal, be proud, be Stoke.

Not wishing to belittle the sentiment at all but wouldn't it be the finest tribute if the team went out there tomorrow and played with at least half the pride and passion that the boys of 72 did and win it for Gordon. I just get the feeling that's not going to happen

I'm sure the sentiment means well, but it's sheer madness to think everyone will stand there clapping for 90 minutes of football

Gordon being Gordon, he'd probably be extremely humbled by 1 second of applause and be happy for the game to take precedence when the tributes are over.

My finger swelled up at Wigan and that only involved clapping for a minute while the announcer bloke was talking, then clapping for the actual minutes clapping.
Another 88 minutes would break me.
Would we be allowed to stop for half time?

Would we be allowed to stop for half time? No, you must continue during half time. In the concourse? Clap. Buying some food and drink? Clap. Want a smoke? Don't think so, because you'll be clapping. How about having a piss? Unfortunately you'll be missing the urinals because you'll be clapping then as well.

Would we be allowed to stop for half time? No, you must show your respect in the time-honoured, universally accepted manner of remembrance - CLAPPING. Those lads at Stoke Loud & Proud have got it right, everyone should clap at multiple specified times during each and every game from now until eternity in honour of someone's memory, be it bona fide club and internationally renowned legends like Gordon Banks or someone's cat that once went to sleep on a Stoke shirt (thus denoting its dedication to SCFC). I'm clapping right now as a sign of my respect and won't stop until my arms become bloody stumps. Granted, it's getting me a few funny looks at work and I could well be up for a disciplinary, but nobody is going to stop me honouring people connected to Stoke City FC every week, I repeat, NOBODY.

A few songs on the concourse wouldn't go a miss though.

Aye Aye Ayah - Banks is better than Yahsin, Afobe is (not) better than Eusebio and Villa are in for a thrashing.
Ah that takes me back to the old Boothen End at the Victoria.

Let the team give Gordon the tribute he deserves by winning the game tomorrow and dedicate the win to Gordon. That would be a fitting tribute to him
