SentinelCan't blame him if he isn't going to get assurances from Jones. He wants to play football at the end of the day. Diouf, who has appeared 142 times for the club, admits this has been the toughest of his five seasons in the Potteries and he will assess his future this summer. “Yeah, I have to, I am not a kid anymore, so you have to,” he revealed. “I just want to play football. Anywhere I can play football, I will go and play football. “It is not in my hands. I spoke to him (Jones) a few times and am getting the same type of answers. You just have to keep working."

Is he one of the players who Jones cannot play?

I’d play him off Vokes all day long - lightening fast and never gives up, just don’t get the reason for shunning him.

Good, get rid. Nice guy and everything but sentiment is one of the reasons we're in this position.

Why can't Jones man up and tell the truth to them. They (Bojan too) are dealing with a manager who won't look them in the eye it seems to me. Certainly both would improve this bunch of losers I'm sure.

I'd definitely give him a whirl ahead of the assortment of crap we've got. But it's been 6 months since he got a sniff.
And doubt he's going to make a real difference, especially at 31.
You'd think Jones is at the stage where he will play anyone who can make a difference at this point, especially with Berahino now being out of the picture and Afobe somehow getting worse.
He's got no skin in the game, so can only assume he's not looking remotely the part in training.
If he doesn't even get on the bench this weekend, he can probably forget it. And doubt he will because even with Berahino unavailable at Ipswich, he didn't.

Strange one with regard to Mame, as with Erik before him. Both were not perceived to be part of the problem, good honest pros who tried their hardest when selected, albeit with some technical limitations. When you see some of the half-arsed effort put in by others, his continuing spell sitting in the stand does seem rather odd.
Right now, I'd have him ahead of Saido (obviously) and probably Afobe too.

I love Mame, his work ethic is brilliant, he's fiercely determined & he has a knack of getting into goal scoring positions however words like "lightning fast" can no longer be associated with him unfortunately & that was his main threat. One of the many it's time to let go but unlike most of the them, I'd wish Mame all the best for his future & would welcome back to the club after his playing days.

He wants to play football - he also wants to kick the ball in the opponent's net, but rarely does he do either.

Can't see what there is to lose by giving him a go alongside Vokes.

Yet more negative press.
The jugular has been severed it seems, it’s spurting out left right and centre, what a pile of piss we’ve become.

It is mind boggling why he isn’t playing. I wouldn't go that far. I always liked Mame but he is ridiculously limited and couldn't trap a bag of cement. Having said that, our options up front are dire to say the least so as others have said we have nowt to lose by giving him a go.

Let’s hope we don’t get many injuries till the end of the season because he seems to be alienating a fair few of our squad players. The Campbell loan is all of a sudden looking very crazy with Bera quite rightly bombed out, Crouch sold and Diouf not part of his plans doesn’t leave much left if Vokes gets injured.

Like Diouf but can never forgive him for that dreadful miss against Burnley last season right on half time which would have put us 2-0 up. That could have made all the difference.

Always liked Mame, he always gave his best which is more than more than can be said for most of the current lot.He should definitely have been given a chance by Jones when you look at the effort shown by Afobe et al.

The Campbell loan was quite odd, I imagine playing off Vokes would have suited him and as we were relatively safe it could have been a work in progress. Maybe Jones doesn't rate him?. The McClean up top has to stop. It worked against Leeds a treat but since..enough said!!!.

There are some truly bizarre decisions being made at the club, Campbell out on loan, Ekker sent packing, Mcleane playing up top, Bojan with the kids, Diouf nowhere to be seen.
Just bizarre.
