Seens like there is a resurgence in cassettes, especially among certain underground scenes, I guess its the practicality. Can't be the audio quality as there isn't any!!

I just found with tapes that they were prone to residue on the playing heads that then impacted on the sound. Head cleaners were hit and miss, used to use a cotton bud and alcohol. Frustrating though and I don't miss cassettes at all.

Frustrating though and I don't miss cassettes at all. I always thought that info on magnetic tape was the truest form of recording. It was the wheels, the chewing and stretching and tangling that was the issue. I'm a fan of the humble cassette tape, it opened up a world of possibilities, recording personal/labour intensive tailor made compilations etc. 'Home Taping is Killing Music', couldn't have been further from the truth. Maybe swap 'music' for 'profit'. And you are right there is a bit of a resurgence of tiny tape labels. A dichotomy of accessibility and exclusivity{limited runs} is interesting. The cd didn't live up to it's billing, that you could take an angle grinder to it, smear it in jam and it'll be unaffected. I still use minidiscs, which didn't take off, all formats have their merits imo.

You have Wi Fi in your car. You used to have a CD player in your car. Before that you played Tapes in your car. Going back, why was there no Vinyl players in a car?
