That must be the reason why he's shoehorning McLean up top with Vokes and even tried Shawcross there tonight. So we must have missed a target or two in January. I'd rather take a punt at someone in the free agent list though than play McLean up top.. he is hopeless at it.

I think too much is being made of it to be honest. It was a mental sub but it was the equivalent of the late desperation Crouch sub - someone to get their head on something in injury time.

Thats also sadly the reason why we probably won't see Bojan up top, in the near future anyway.

We’ve seen both Pulis and Hughes chuck Shawcross up front for the last few minutes in desperation. Shawcross has usually already been on the pitch. It just stood out more this time because he came on as a substitute.

I don’t know why he doesn’t give Diouf a go if that’s what he wants. Diouf will run and Diouf will cause problems. He won’t be easily knocked off the ball. I know he couldn’t hit a barn door last season but surely he’s worth a shot if that’s the type of forward he wants?

its fcukg laughable that N.j put shawcross up front, for the past three or four seasons, since huth got sold,he's missed dozens of very easy headed chances, its almost like he's in defence mode, and he's just clearing the fcukg ball,at least when partnering with huth, they had a little competition going, who could score the most goals during the season, he wants fcukg off along with a dozen others, they're not even good enough to play in the staffs county league, rant over for now.

Surely keeping Crouch or Campbell would have made sense if he has no intention of using Diouf?

The Clayton Woods training ground Barn Door was actually declared redundant and was pensioned off.

Diouf is the perfect foil for Vokes. I'm not sure any of our players are 'perfect' for anything, but it's definitely worth a go. I've always liked Diouf.

bOjAn is A BuSteD fLuSh wItH NoT mUcH LeFt tO OfFeR Brilliant. Eloquence personified. I note you didn't offer any evidence to the contrary. There are several hundred far more erudite posts than this on the several hundred Bojan threads that already exist. The arguments countering you are widely known, yet people still keep posting baseless crap like you did. There's also a certain irony to you criticising no "evidence" when that's what you did in the first place, but I bet I can second guess your reasons: He's done nothing for three years He's done nothing since his injury Four different managers have not picked him? All of which have been either explained away, or proven to be flat out wrong.

Clearly weren't at the game yesterday. What did he contribute that I missed? The Bojan love in on this board baffles me. I specifically watched Bojan after he came on yesterday (as in followed him all over the pitch) because I wanted to see exactly what he did: Completed three dribbles with the ball Moved into space to provide options Successfully took on four defenders, only got tackled once Completed six passes Played an excellent through ball between two defenders to Vokes which led to a corner for us Moved back to defend every corner and free kick against us Ran very quickly to support a counter-attack Successfully won the ball from two WBA players trying to keep it in the corner Not bad for a cameo, he contributed a lot more than most of the others. But because it's Bojan and he's judged to a different standard than anyone else, he obviously "did nothing" because he didn't score a forty-yard, wrong-footed volley that nutmegged the keeper.

I know he couldn’t hit a barn door last season but surely he’s worth a shot if that’s the type of forward he wants? With this system, there is no doubt Diouf is the best partner for. Okey of our options. He has pace, good in the air and will work hard. It’s not Afobe’s game, MacClean is lost and Berahino isn’t quick enough. We may want Diouf our long-term but for now we need to use the resources we have
