The badge represents the club well i.e. it's complete mess from top to bottom. It was done on the cheap and reeks of it. Pathetic, half arsed pile of dog shit.

It's a fat bloaty mess with 0 character. As Pugs says above, probably more relevant to the squad than ever.

Seems about right....... It’s rubbish and even after all these years it’s still rubbish. Messing with the clubs history for the sake of petty non existent commercialism. Don’t see the likes of Man Utd etc... changing their club badges. Which proves when one thing is wrong everything is wrong. We changed to this crest in 2001/02. In the meantime we've had two promotions and an FA Cup final. Now the golden age is over everything is shit. The crest nobody mentioned is now a problem.

It was rubbish when they changed, and it’s still rubbish. What has happened since the change on the pitch is irrelevant........ it’s still rubbish and I suspect my view of it in the future probably wont change, unless they find some other mess of a design to use that’s worse.

I lost interest the moment I saw talkshite were involved. If they hate our badge then we should stick with it.

To be fair it has been a running complaint ever since it was introduced. And rightly so. Utterly devoid of creativity or design flair. From a city built on the production of goods that rely on great design it's very underwhelming.

I've said it numerous times on here, so I'll say it again:
Our current badge was designed by a committee of primary school children who were given the basic facts about the club and some crayons!
Unfortunately, somebody slipped in some blue ones???

Our club crest is something that would have been dreamed up in a Blue Peter kids art competition. It is totally with out character and lacks any conection with the City of Stoke on Trent. The only redeeming factor is the 1863, the supposed birth of our club. I also know a few lads with the club crest tattooed on themselves and if you are not a Stoke fan you will wonder what or who the fuck it is. I for one would like to see the City of Stoke on Trent crest adopted once again by Stoke City FC and incorporating the 1863 in the design.

Glad you agree Boothenender, "Blue Peter art competition"....brilliant! As for the City crest, it can't be copyrighted; this is why clubs moved away from Crests to badges. You can design and copyright a badge so you have sole rights over the image and, therefore, merchandise. Yes, it's all about money again. But it still doesn't mean the badge has to be shite and the wrong colours!!!

I know some didn't like it much which is always going to happen. There was no particularly strong outcry about it though. That it's in focus at this point says more about our on the field shitness than anything else.

I like it. Stark, minimalist, and presents a strong, easily recognisable 'corporate' identity. The beauty is in its simplicity. I agree mate. Tin hat on but I also like the blue and the fact it's being incorporated a bit more into the kit as a whole. Atletico-esque!

Man United did. They removed 'Football Club' that speaks volumes. Man City did, twice, Arsenal have,Chelsea have, loads more. I stand corrected..... but any recently ? and removing ‘Football Club” isn’t really a major redesign. thefootballcrestindex.com

I think the original badge /crest of S-O-T works really well.
It has a Bottle kin pointing out the decline of the local industry.
A Phoenix depicting the rise of the club using the coates wealth.
The Camel as a reflection of the Hump the fans now have with Scholes and Cartwrigh .
The sythe of the grim reaper as a symbol of whats to come for our great club....
Perfect.

I don't mind its simplicity but it's proportions are shot to fuck. Yes, we've had a nightmare with it, I don't believe anyone with a single ounce of design talent has been anywhere near it. The real mystery is how it got approved. I guess Phil Rawlins just rail roaded it through a Board Meeting in 5 minutes flat without asking anyone at all who knows what good looks like!

I actually don’t mind our badge to be honest.
It’s simple and inoffensive, like our team, but I’ve never seen it as a catastrophic abortion.

Prefer any of the old ones to the current one.
If we want unique, could have a staffs knot shaped one, with red and white stripes where the lines for the rope are or something.

Perhaps we should have a potter at a wheel with Stoke City FC underneath. Then we'd get the approval from fucking Talksport, afterall, that's all the Swansea one is, a symbol of their nickname with their name underneath it! Is this Bojan Mackay?
