Seems about right....... It’s rubbish and even after all these years it’s still rubbish. Messing with the clubs history for the sake of petty non existent commercialism. Don’t see the likes of Man Utd etc... changing their club badges.

Maybe, but once the club did then I can’t see a reason to change. The excuses at the time were lame and revolved around some idea that it would make the club more commercially viable. It’s raking over old ground, that will no doubt have been debated to death at the time, but personally I don’t think the change was needed and then they came up with the current mess.

Our current badge is fine, if not all that interesting, and was present throughout one of the most wildly successful periods of our history.
I would be against changing it again, and furthermore I don’t give two hoots what crappy media companies think of it. A pox on all their houses.

ours is an abomination isn't it? absolutely fucking toss. Like is designed by work experience on a lunch break. it makes the kit, and all merch look cheap and nasty, like most things the club does off the pitch. i hate the blue, and i'll continue to hate the blue. It should be fucked off forever. the fact that this simpleton's design was to save money when making kits says it all. This sub-par GCSE level design has probably put more people off buying kit/merch than it has saved on 'printing' fees. Below is what we should have, i don't care if its part of the city's, pay a small licence fee (win win for everyone) Attachments:

However yes,Man City changed their badge recently as did Chelsea,Arsenal,Fulham, other examples throughout the league's. Stokes 'traditional' badge is a bit of a myth as we rarely had one until the late 70's quartered badge.

Just in case anyone is interested, here are the reasons for Talksport's choice/decisions. Can't help feeling the current popular designs is just a trend/fashion thing and next year another style will be "in favour". There is clearly a generation gap in people's choice of style. Each house my step-son buys he knocks down walls to create an "open style" because that's what he and his wife want. Me and my wife prefer separate rooms. She'd also like a pink bath, but she's not getting one! talksport.com/football/efl/488432/every-championship-club-badge-ranked-from-worst-to-first-as-hull-city-get-a-new-crest/

Can understand why ours is where it is that list; it really is a nothing badge.
Swansea’s is decent but I think Wednesday’s is the best.
How Bolton’s or Birmingham’s feature as highly as they do is strange; they’re both pretty terrible.

Always thought when our current design was revealed that it needed either a Staffordshire Knot, Bottle kiln, or Stan Matthews feature (just as the academy badge has) on it to give the badge some history/purpose.

I don't like Sheff Weds' crest, it looks like it belongs on a shield from Game of Thrones or something.

Agreed, especially as it was pushing 'The Potters' as its theme, bottle kiln silhouettes would have made total sense.

The red and white stripes in the badge is just pure laziness. It was suggested at the time that this represents the club colours. Well yes. A red and white badge on a red and white shirt.
Consider the Liverpool equivalent of our badge.
A shield shape with an empty red space, the reds written underneath, and Liverpool written above. Or, consider a Leeds equivalent... It's the emperor's new clothes.
It's shit!

Didn't we once have the middle stripe as a bottle kiln? Much more imaginative and not a huge change.

I like it.
Stark, minimalist, and presents a strong, easily recognisable 'corporate' identity.
The beauty is in its simplicity.

Nowt wrong with it......sometimes 'simple' is better!!!
Although if we did change, the old 70's one (like the one shown on toppercorner's post) is a good 'Un!!! 👍🏼
