I was there first thing this morning at the Manor. Always puts a smile on my face when I run down Lordship Lane
The only thing guaranteed from the unified council is neglect of every town apart from Hanley. Newcastle has it's problems but it looks fantastic against the other neglected towns in the area. Just imagine what a unified authority would have done for it.

I lived in Fenton for a while back in the late 90s with a girl I was seeing, top end of Masterton St. by the Courts and the Memorial, and it was desolate. Now, even though I live just down the road in Boothen, I can't actually remember the last time I purposely went to Fenton.
Guess the Fentonians still haven't got over being omitted from Arnold Bennett's story.

I used to work on Victoria Road;a more desolate place I couldn't imagine. It could easily be used for a fifth Mad Max movie.

Big fan of Fenton, top notch boozers, Ran Ales, some really smart architecture, some of my go to shops: Glovers... Philpot's. Me dentist used to be there. And I use it pre-games {on the subject of pulling teeth}. But like a microcosm of S-o-T, it's disjointed to fuck, and consequently a bit shit. Tend to just nip there, if it was based in a square around the Courts {not been the cafe yet, have bands on}, I'd be tempted to stick about, make an afternoon of it. Supermarkets, market etc. Better if you could jump on a train/shuttle. Got everything really, but a heart.

Sounds like the one, got new owners about a year ago, they seem to have put some money into the place, can't recommend the oatcakes highly enough.
