I'm just going to try looking the other way, someone pinch me when you can bear to watch again please?
We did start better. And again after the break. But the lack of belief and sense of disconnection out there is still agonising to see. Hull were no better than ordinary and we barely troubled them. It didn't feel like utterly woeful management as it did last week, just grim and lacklustre.

Too many players out of position.
The diamond doesn't suit the players we have.
McLean up top is just totally ludicrous.
Getting rid of your only left back is suicidal.

3 from me and I'm being generous. Clucas, McClean and BMI are woeful. 2 of the three satyed on the pitch for 95 minutes! Gouranga.

5, should have bought Clucas off at half time, McClean needed to be dropped into midfield too.

Honeymoon period is well and truly over.
Team was shite. How he kept Clucas on is a mystery to all. Their 2nd goal was a carbon copy of shrewburys 3rd in the replay.
Getting close to giving it a miss for a while.

Have to question how Vlucas and McClean weren’t hooked.

He stuck by his principles and played his favoured formation. The problem is the players aren't used to it and some of them are simply unsuited to it and in some cases probably never will be. It's not his team, he's changing things radically mid season and we're playing teams who've had half a season to settle into an established style of play.
It's a cast iron certainty we will be terrible for much of the rest of the season, Anybody who thinks otherwise is in cloud cuckoo land.
What else is he supposed to do? Play a formation he doesn't believe in? What exactly is the point of that?
Effectively we've started our pre-season early and the games will be typical pre-season games - a mixture of promising and awful.
Hopefully we'll get enough points to stay up and finish the rebuild in the summer. Until then anything less than a complete thrashing is a bonus.

I’m just not going to rate Jones until he’s been allowed to completely tear this squad of shit-houses to pieces in the summer. He needs a cull of biblical proportions to fix this. Like Noah and the Ark, except we don’t need an Ark, just a flood.

If we took our early chances, especially the first minute one for McClean, and the penalty, the hole game including our confidence would be different.
They had confidence and took their chances.

I don’t see what the positives are. Just cos a manager has a system doesn’t mean he should stick to his principles.
0 from me I’m afraid.
He’s more of a tinker man than I’ve seen at stoke for a long time!

Does anyone have any idea why Clucas started on the right and Etebo started on the left? Weird

1 for me just for turning up i feel for Jones but the early signs are not good he is trying to play a system with players who just not good enough or refuse to buy into it. We have to stick with it till the end of the season & hope things improve.

the one is for at least giving Bojan a go
But for me, not substituting Clucas today has taken this guy rock bottom in my estimation today.
WTF was he thinking.....or not thinking!!!!!!

5.
Thought the starting line up was brave all things considered. I wouldn't have picked that side but can see why and respect that.
Thought we completely controlled the first half against the form team in the league, and a bit more composure from McClean and we take a deserved lead. Ditto Vokes for the leveller.
Loses marks for the subs. Clucas staying on the pitch is one massive head scratcher. Injuries depending, it would be a long time before he played for me again after that.

tactics were fine until they gave up after the 2nd goal
the lineup was shite though, don't understand McClean up front and using Edwards and BMI at all
and Clucas was shocking, if he's on the pitch next match I'll lose faith in The Messiah

I actually didnt think it was as bad as last week or the worst of rowett.
6 first half - He couldn't control that wank penalty.
1.5 Second half - Wank.
Mclean is not a striker.
You have two strikers. Play them.
3.9 overall

Wasn't thrilled with the starting line-up but I think we have to accept he is trying to assess his squad.
That said leaving players on who were clearly not fit for purpose is taking things too far. He hooked Tymon in the first half and there were a few who should have suffered similar yesterday.
4 for me

A generous
4.
My flippin' dog could have seen Clucas needed taking off ASAP.
I know why he played JMcC where he did but again he clearly wasn't doing enough to stay on.
BMI was poor but equally drew the short straw playing LB which sems destined to br our achilles heel for the remainder of the season.
