Has the entire structure now become a slave to the Premier League? Is that even sustainable as a business model? It's just such a weird scenario to consider when literally 90% of English League Football is outside of it, yet they hold none of the cards to influence the game in any way --YET HOLD SO MUCH INFLUENCE -- in terms of promotion of teams and young players and whatnot. It's so lop-sided now it's uncanny and I don't even know what to think except hope that a super league breaks away. it's all such a mess really. Not sure what I'm getting at, but it all seems so plastic and false now....

If I was a pedantic loser with no life or friends, I'd say that "literally 90%" isn't strictly true and that literally speaking, it's 78%. Good job I'm not a loser, really.

It's rather like society as a whole in a sense with the minions supporting the hugely wealthy elite, especially with the damned Tories in power and even more so after Brexit. We need a revolution

I think the way things are going there will be loss of the Division 2 title and it will be sponsored out and the Premier League will retain it's title but the next two leagues will be renamed with the First Division becoming a secondary league. There is no way the EFL administrators can support the league financially so it will be tendered out. This will also entice further investors to bank roll First Div teams if their prospects of more money from the higher two leagues is there to aim for.

I think the next stage will be introduction of B teams into lower leagues. This will ensure that there is on-going investment. The likes of Man City will only invest of they are getting something out of it.
This has already stated with the EFL Trophy as a pilot, that's why our fans should not be supporting it IF they don't agree with the introduction of B teams which I feel will be the nail in the coffin for football outside the Premiership.
