who makes the decision to retire? Does the player himself know or does someone close to him have to be cruel to be kind? His appearances from the bench are becoming more painful to watch.

We’ve got a lot more problems than peter crouch.
Two million a month on players that live in a different country for a start.

He's contracted till end of season so the decision won't be made until he's out of contract obviously

Funny how every manager since Pulis has adopted the, when out of ideas throw Crouchie on for the last 15 and hope for the best option. Why? Because the rest of them have been poor in the previous 75 mins. It’s been like this for a long time.

The idiots have a go at Crouchie who comes on because Afobe who’s supposed to be in his prime is crap. The guy is always on the back foot, anticipates nothing and is lazy. Let’s beat Crouchue up though who whilst may be in his twilight years is at least honest

I do think time is up for crouchie but you can’t knock the bloke. Ultimate professional who keeps himself fit and dedicated. When you’ve got players like berahino who can’t even turn up on time for training yet you have a 37 year old man that can, then that says it all about this current bunch of tossers

If we get Vokes in I'd let him go now. Good servant, but he isn't the same player any more. Wouldn't come as a surprise due to age either.

Crouch’s sub appearances are embarrassing, totally embarrassing. He won 1 out of 10 aerial battles and gave the ball away with every touch apart from one. Yes, he has had a fantastic career, to deny that would be pure ignorance. But if you think that the way he ambles around 10 yards behind the play, wins nothing in the air and generally contributes zero to the team is a positive influence then you are even more ignorant than those cavemen who blame him for everything. There are problems at this club, big problems, off the pitch Crouch is not one of them, on the pitch it’s totally cringeworthy watching him. He should retire now and be remembered for the brilliant footballer he was and the career he has had. Unfortunately now, he is more of a liability on the pitch than an influence.

Why don’t you call out the abysmal Afobe or Berahino who can’t be arsed to turn up for training? Do you in your font of all knowledge way think they’re actually good players?

If we’re basing footballers on the appearances, the whole lot of them should retire. They were ALL cringeworthy yesterday

He’s 38 years old. Let him retire and go and look after the kids and write books. His playing days are over.

Because the rest of them have been poor in the previous 75 mins. It’s been like this for a long time. It's worked a few times. But there's a helluva of games where the ploy didn't work, and it's all very predictable for opponents who will have someone assigned to take care of him when he does come on. He's just scored 46 goals in 225 games for us, and that includes his first couple of season when he was a regular threat. In his last roughly 100 games he's scored just 13 goals. So it's about time we tried something else

Let’s beat Crouchue up though who whilst may be in his twilight years is at least honest He's honest, doesn't win headers, can't hold the ball up and can't finish. He had several aerial challenges to win yesterday after coming on, meat and drink for a 6'7" target man surely? Nope, not one of them did he even get near to winning the ball. In fact, his first act on the pitch was to completely miss the ball with a stupid back heel air kick, and then laugh about it to Williams. Imagine the reaction if any other player had done that? Should've been rid of him in 2015.

Unlike you I do comment on other things aside from crouch. See both the berahino and Afobe threads. Berahino is a waster who is judged by lower standards that everyone else because hes been so shit previously. He'd be the 1st out of the door if I had the money coates does. Afobe is shite, a human trampoline but I'd take him over 37 year old Peter crouch every day of the week.
