Yet more proof that being a big name and/or a club legend doesn't have any bearing on whether you're going to be a successful manager. Has he won a game there? Whenever I've looked at their results it seems like they've got hammered again.

He's one of those ex players that you could just tell wasn't going to be any good as a manager.

He'll soon be back on sky sports with his insightful analysis, telling proven premier league manager where they are going wrong.

My mother, God bless her, always told me to speak good of people, so here goes.....
Thierry Henry, that cheating, adulterous, odious helmet of a man, has been sacked... good.

To be fair, Monaco has been a sinking ship for a while. Selling most of the team that got them to the CL semis only a couple of seasons ago is only going to lead to one outcome.

There are very few examples of top players going on to be great managers. The exception that proves the rule was Johan Cruyff who excelled at both. Inventer of “total football” and the greatest European player of all time - arguably also better than Pele and Maradona. Definitely better than Messi and Ronaldo - and a decent bloke to top it off. All this while being a chain smoker who didn’t believe in training, and used to hide behind a tree puffing on a fag while his team-mates were running around. Sadly, this addiction eventually caught up with him and he died of lung cancer.

You're entitled to your opinion, football is all about opinions, my opinion is that Messi is definitely better than Cruyff and is by far and away the best ever.

We all have different opinions of players I couldn’t stand cruyff nasty player when things not going well And as for his career as a manager I blame him for the continual boredom of watching tippy tappy shite

Rinus Michels the Dutch manager is generally credited with inventing Total football and the Dutch were inspired by the Hungary side of the fifties. Cruyff at times could be quite rigid tactically. Successful manager though for sure.

Perhaps a shit manager, yes, but I don't think this really proves it. Monaco were a bit of a basket case for a while before he came in, seemingly.
