Wish he was doing this for us.
You’d imagine if we’d approached him in the summer, he’d have chosen us over Leeds.

Well ... some manager this season post match, said: "we wanted to try getting the ball between their two central defenders; that's the best way to score against Stoke." Could have been Bristol City's? I like the approach that says... "we wanted to try getting the ball between the two white posts at the other end; that's the best way to score against Leeds."

Excellent retort. Thanks for the feedback. Sorry, retort to what? Your comment which has fuck all relevance to this thread, other than your pathetic attempt of shoehorning in your usual slating of someone who's been here less than a fucking week, just as an excuse to stick the knife in.....again? It got the specific level of retort it deserved. No more, no less

Surely any chairman would be saying to their manager ' Bielsa is out their coaching and training his players all day every day so they are the fittest and best prepared, AND he's sent a spy to watch the other team train AND he's watched the other team 50 fucking times...what have you done?

I know it's not on topic but Bielsa has fucked me off a little with this. He's trying to say that he covers every angle and therefore what difference does watching training make after all he's watched the last 50 odd games. He then goes on to show in detail the work that he's done. It's akin to revising for an exam and then looking at the exam paper. He's then able to target and focus his preparation. He explains that he tries not to overload the players with information so must surely know this gives him an advantage.
I'm not saying it's the worst crime in history, I'm just saying his display this evening was a fucking charade.

Jonesy, should stick a huge sign outside of CW saying all are welcome to our training sessions, especially Dirty Leeds. Hire 2 pub teams to train in Pulis/Rowett ball fashion, totally confuse the Dirty Leeds spy. Jonesy then sends the lads out Saturday and we give them another 7-2 battering. Thought you were going say, all welcome in the hope we can find 11 players for the weekend.

He doesn’t need to spy on us. 10 minutes on here will tell him everything he needs to know. We can’t defend, our midfield is a shambles and our best strikers are an 18 year kid and a 38 year old twig that sit on the bench.

He's nuts but he's a brilliant manager who will surely be in the Premier League soon, if not with Leeds then with someone else.

Meanwhile we have "Let the foreign lads know they're in a game" eh Charlie?
People can bitch about this as much as they want but I cannot help but admire the sheer amount of preparation that he puts in. It's paying off too.

I would love to have been at that press conference yesterday. It sounded by all accounts a masterclass on how to prepare not just for a football match, but to face each and every team. I'm a bit of a geek and fascinated by tactical analysis and performance statistics. The data he had prepared on Derby is something every club should aspire to.
I think the media has made a bit much of this whole spying thing to be honest. What's really the difference between what this chap outside the training ground and a scout at a reserve match taking notes?

I'd be surprised if all the top managers weren't up to it to some extent.

I think this thread is bizarre
Bielsa being praised for scouting other sides - every club does that,it's nothing new. OK not to the extremes Bielsa does but is there really a benefit to watching a side 50 or 60 times instead of 10 times? Does anyone really think Stoke don't scout the opposition or only watch them once or twice?
as for spying on other sides training, that's out of order

He has been praised by everyone from Johan Cruyff to Arrigo Sacchi From Pep to Ferguson Pele to Lionel Messi. Zidane to Maradona Basically every major person in football from the last 50 years. That's great. What's he won? I will defer to a man who has won a heck of a lot for this bit. "My admiration for Marcelo Bielsa is huge because he makes the players much, much better," said Guardiola. "Still, I didn't meet one guy, a former player from Marcelo Biesla who speaks no good about him. "They are grateful about his influence on their careers in football. "He helped me a lot with his advice. Whenever I speak with him I always feel like he wants to help me." "It is important for me to say this about Marcelo because it doesn't matter how many titles he had in his career," the Spaniard added. "We are judged by that – how much success we have, how many titles we have won. "But that is much less influential than how he has influenced football and his football players. "That is why, for me, he is the best coach in the world.
