Oh shit. At HT I thought yes!!! we're seeing the future here. At FT I thought no bollocks, we're seeing the past and it just won the contest.
Can't blame Jones for the sheer lack of commitment and motivation from our defence second half, he must have felt powerless. A pub team would have done better and that's kind of the point, ok it wasn't our regular XI, inasmuch as we have one of those, but surely one purpose of a squad system is communication between players?
All the same I'm giving Nathan a 7 for the flair and freedom till the past dragged us under.

Overall a 6* First half, looked alright. Not great, but not the worst. Second half, woeful. Wrong subs, changed formation, fell apart. Not necessarily his fault, but a glimmer of hope with Campbell and Charlie giving it a good go.

Struggling really. We lost again at home after being 2-0.
It’s a 3 from me, sticking Campbell and Adam in.

I was happy with his starting 11, and at 2-0 well justified selections. However the subs were a car crash. Leaving crouch up front on his own when you’ve got a young lad on a hat trick was wrong IMO, And Maclean should never be allowed anywhere near this club anyway.
As I said Saturday I’ll reserve judgment until the Leeds game, as tonight was a bit of a test to who offered what.

6 - overall I thought there was a big improvement, like the players I was lulled into a false sense of security. Thought at the beginning he made too many changes , but we looked good first half, but we got complacent , both fullbacks were poor and the midfield , once Adam went off were rubbish, did not track back, time and again they had five against three around our box. I would probably exclude Etebo from the criticism of the midfield , the rest were pathetic.

6. Not too much wrong with the team that started (Maybe Afobe should have started in place of Crouch) and we were good value for our lead at HT. But our subs were way too late. Adam had a great first half but him and Bauer should have been taken off by the 60th minute as they were understandably breathing out of their a***** by the hour mark.
Still, hopefully, the manner of the defeat will persuade the board that Jones needs the funds to radically strengthen the defence this window if we are to avoid the risk of relegation.

6* first half we flattered to deceive second half Shrewsbury streched us wider, Adam, Bauer and Clucas should have been subbed at 55 minutes, but there's not explaining why the defence couldn't defend apart from saying they were shite. Gouranga.

He can't and shouldn't get a free pass for that 2nd half shambles. As poor as Shrewsbury were we were so sloppy for the 10 minutes before they scored and it was so obvious they were going to sneak one.
Adam, Crouch and Ince should have been hauled off around the hour mark and replaced with Woods, Afobe and Berahino. We'd have killed the game off I have no doubt.
It's a 5 from me.....

6*
First half solid and purposeful. Adam and Campbell were excellent.
Second half, the real stoke turned up and rolled over and died, allowing a struggling league one team to mug us good and proper.
Ince was shocking and should have been subbed. Clucas not much better. Mcclean was a baffling sub. The defence looked woeful when on the back foot.
My love for this club is seriously being tested these last few years.

6* for me, too early to tell what his overall game plan is, I was pleased to see he gave a few the chance to see what they can offer, Campbell and Adams shone, Tymon and Bauer were crap as were the majority of the others.....

He signalled 2 mins to Crouch then there was a lot of pointing at Campbell and his leg and Campbell went over and had a word before the sub was made

He's presided over our 2 worst performances of the season.
No one thought it possible, but he's taken us to greater levels of wankness than the previous useless cunt.
He said he would respect the cup. And then made 8 changes.
He couldn't see out a 2-0 lead. At home. Against Shrewsbury.
He's cost us any chance of a cup run.
0.

4*
I didn’t agree with his starting 11, but we were 2-0 up at half time playing really well. Ince and Crouch were pretty pointless though.
Second half Ince and Crouch got even worse, especially Ince who we should be selling at the earliest opportunity. Yet he didn’t take either of them off.
Campbell was carrying a knock after a bad challenge that the ref didn’t even give a free kick for, so he did have to come off but to put McClean on was an awful sub. Leaving a knackered Bauer on with Edwards on the bench was a bad mistake and will have contributed directly to the collapse.
He can only make 3 subs and you have to be careful of injuries but he must have seen these things that were obvious to most in the stands.
I still think Jones will be the right man, he just has awful players and this was a poor night for him in the end, I actually really enjoyed the first half, which I can’t say for any half of Stoke football for a few years now.
