Courtesy title really, today was Rowett's Legacy v Brentford, next league game will be the first time we're any kind of a Nathan Jones team. But since we do this every week:
Brentford were a joy to watch, you could see quality management and mutual trust right through the team. Stoke on the other hand... it's like Gary was never here. I saw no visible personality in our team at all. None. Uncertain, sluggish, lacked the confidence to build enough or the competence to close Brentford down (which would have taken some doing today to be fair). Couple of decent Rowett signings cancelled out by a couple of Rowett donkeys.
Impossible to believe SCFC was a Prem side this time last year. We looked more like League One. So, it's over to you Nathan - that's the scale of the job you've taken on, if you can get us into the play-offs and playing like it you're a genius, wishing you all the best, you need it.
A nominal 6 from me

Went with his system to start with, realised how awful our defence is and tried to do something about it by reverting to a system the players knew (Rowett's wank 4-5-1). That we looked even worse after that probably taught him a lot.
Only thing I thought he should have done differently was gone back to the diamond later on, as the game was clearly lost and we were showing nothing with 4-5-1.

Brentford were on fire today, and as Nathan Jones said, they're a long way down the track towards where we want to be, we're only just starting.
I like that he mentioned not solely looking for the win today, but looking at developing that long term familiarity with how he wants us to play.
The team and management will have learnt from today.

I would rate him as extremely edgy if the post match interviews were anything to go by - I think he will look back on today and shudder whatever happens in the future.

6 - Thought he was bold to jump straight in with the diamond after 2 days training. Was also impressed he was bold enough to bring Bauer back into the group and looked to change our shape on occasions (and i dont mean just sacrificing a midfielder for Crouchy regardless of how the game was going). Lets hope today was an exercise into where he feels we need strengthening both short and long term, and what he feels we need to work on for the games ahead.
More than this however - i hope its opened a lot of peoples eyes that we need to have a radical overhaul in the summer. Luckily, with 5 out of contract, 2 loans finishing and a smattering of others who would want out of the club (such as GCam), this summer is the best opportunity we will get to do this.

10/10 for being brave enough to try his system on this squad of players after only a single day of training. We need to be patient and we need to get behind NJ and the plan. This will take time but hopefully we will see a continuous improvement as the weeks go by.

Too early to rate him but he played the system he wants to go with and realised it was too early so tried to change it back. Can't really say any more.

played the formation we thought we were crying out for, and said all the right things beforehand.
He probably has underestimated the task in hand, so i'll be a little more lenient.
My only gripes, are not making the right subs early enough, and maybe it would have been nice to not have been the subs we got.
Clucas, not for me, should have been Etebo
I would have pulled Allen instead of woods.

3.5 No special treatment that GR wouldnt get.
Didn't adjust Clucas not working.
Didn't adjust Ince quickly enough.
Made Allen look ineffective.
Odd subs.
The set up was essentially a Rowett set up and there was no new manager bounce which concerns me greatly. I can't quite understand why he's getting more than 5 from people, that's as bad as we've played this season.
I guess we'll find out in the next few months how things will go, but not a good start.
EDIT - +.5 For hooking Berahino but it should've been for Campbell.*
EDIT** Woods had absolutely no concept of his role or what he was supposed to be doing today. -5

4 and that's cutting him a bit of slack because he's only been in charge for a few days. Should have stuck with his original formation and line up until at least 75 miniutes, we were actually worse when he went back to 4-5-1 and looked even less likely to score. Hopefully things will improve but it will have to be a short learning curve for him. Gouranga.

Not scored him as it would be unfair. Cos I doubt even Pep Guadiola or Jergen Klopp could get a decent tune out of this shower of dog sh*t.

Unfair as most managers would sit in the stands at this stage and he had the bottle to take charge. Needs time.

3 for the side he picked which didn't include McClean. But it was yet another shambolic performance one of our worst on a par with Leeds. Season just about over

Unfair to judge him. I’d hazard a guess he didn’t even pick that 11. However he will have wanted to get in the hot seat and see what we’re about. I’ll reserve judgement until next Saturday when he’s spent a week with the team and he can put an 11 out that he has seen on the training ground properly

I'll reserve judgement whilst he sharpens his axe, no make that a chainsaw because that's how much dead wood needs cutting out.Brentford looked more like Barca thanks to our sloths!

2, max 3 if I'm being generous.
According to the EFL review on Sky we had ONE touch in Brentford's box. ONE in 90 minutes!!
If that's true it's absolutely inexcusable.

Got to commend him for going with his formation. Training will shows a false picture as to how players can adapt to formation and the teamwork needed to back each other when being asked to work differently
Think hes done it on purpose to gauge just how much work he has to do to make it work against a good team instead of pitching it against teammates.

I think it’s unfair to mark him..... sorry Sal
He’s had 2 training sessions with what are Rowett, Hughes and to a lesser degree Lamberts players. I’ll reserve judgement for a few weeks

For the performance I give a 3/10, we were lucky not to concede 5.
He has had so little time with the group and Brentford were on top form, I don’t blame him for the result or the performance, it is what it is. He needs time to sort this mess out, I hope he now realises if he didn’t before that we need a few defenders in pronto.

Too early to give him a score. A house point for starting with an attacking line up. Pat on the back for realising how bad our defence is and for changing the formation to at least try and counter Brentford's pace. He can't be blamed for how useless so many of our players are.

If jones hasnt got a drink problem then he has Now after that farce.
Big Big job on his hands and he knows it but I hope/pray that he can sort it out as his confidence beams through so we can’t judge him yet or even for another 5/10 game because this project ain’t gonna be sorted in this window.
We have to be realistic because finally I think we have a proper manager who will actually Coach and develop players.

Not scored him as it would be unfair. Cos I doubt even Pep Guadiola or Jergen Klopp could get a decent tune out of this shower of dog sh*t. Without meaning to I think you have hit the nail on head. You only have to look at when Pep took over Man City and Klopp with Liverpool how long it has taken them both to reach where they are now. They both had a clear idea and philosophy on how they wanted their team to play, knowing it would take time. Pep in particilar came under a huge amount of flack during his first season with many pundits claiming his style would not work. Patience is the key, we may have to go through a period of dire results to achieve the end goal.

Harsh to rate him. He tried his preferred formation and quickly discovered our defenders would be better suited in league 1 or 2. Until this gets fixed, he will have to revert to the Rowett/Lambert style of play i.e the midfield protecting the defence and hope we nick something.
