Everyone seems to be at it these days. I remember those days fondly when teams hated us having throw ins.

I don`t hear much criticism being directed Wolves way either for drying the ball or over-use of the long throw for that matter.

There was a reference to Delap and use of the towel and the suggestion was that all that was behind us!

The stick only started after that, before it was viewed quite rightly with some fascination by the media, I remember the analysis of Mama's goal against Villa and the pundits saying it was strength we could build on. Sadly, as with a certain incident in 2009, it reinforced the media perception of Stoke. Has anyone ever routinely hounded Johnny Evans for quite literally ending Stuart Holden's career? Of course not, because it was big club on little club, with Shawcross we got the full force of Arsenal related media lambasting us. Same with Alexander-Arnold and the throw, it's "amazing" and "skillful".

It was also massively over used once teams had got to grips with it and an excellent way to waste time which never seemed to be picked up on by referees.
