When your team is rock bottom on confidence, the manager is begging for a win, and fans are at boiling point you step up and smash that ball with all your might in the corner of the net!! This!! His effort today was pathetic!! It's like he didn't care.

How was Afobe utilised before joining us?
Rowett has used him pretty much as a lone striker and it’s one of the reasons I don’t rate Rowett because it’s pretty clear Afobe hasn’t got the required attributes to play up top on his own. Rowett doesn’t know how to use him.

At Bournemouth he was back up to Wilson and Josh King

I was thinking the other day how Harry Burrows used to take penalties. I believe he had one of the hardest shots in the game at his peak . Harry's maxim was to blast the ball as hard as he could. I don't think he missed many

Yes he can’t hit a cows arse with a banjo but at least he works hard and would put a bit of pressure on the oppositions centre halves. Afobe does neither.

Since James Beattie, we've had no one that's made me feel confident.

Best penalty taker I`ve seen at Stoke was Paul `Glassback` Maguire

Best penalty taker I`ve seen at Stoke was Paul `Glassback` Maguire He was very cool at penalties. George Berry put everyone in the same bottom corner, didn't matter that the keeper knew where they were going, they had no chance as they were perfect. Having said that James Beattie was the best. Higginbotham took good penalties too. Bojan scored some cool ones but he did miss one. The generally accepted ratio is 90% success rate, for the last three years we must be about 30%😦

The Pizza Boys strike again 🙄 Can’t believe we’ve got to play £12m for the useless lump. I wouldn’t pay £12. Can’t we pull out of the deal, or is it watertight?

The “pizza boys” didn’t sign him, he was Rowett’s man I believe

He was Rowett’s top striker target. He wasn’t foisted on him.

Rowett pursues his 20 goal a season man that has recently been on the bench more than minutes on the pitch!
I think nick Hancock should do a football nightmares and just base it on our beloved stoke city.

The “pizza boys” didn’t sign him, he was Rowett’s man I believe Yes but they sorted out the price and agreement with Wolves and Afobe’s contract which will no doubt be a 4 year deal or something stupid, so it is the Pizza Boys fault. 😜

Christ when you look at the top scorers this season in this league you can see with a bit of smart thinking you can find a decent striker for not much cash... Abraham 16 goals...on loan Sharp 16 goals.....peanuts Maupay 15 goals.... a couple of mill Pukki 15 goals.... Free transfer Grabban 14 goals.... OK a hefty 6m Gayle 13 goals.... Loan Roofe 13 goals.... Around one mill Then we have Afobe 7 goals.....12 mill!!! Berahino 5 goals.....12 mill!!!
Jesus wept even Danny Graham and Frazier Campbell are outscoring them. What the fuck are our Technical Director and scouts seeing out there? This area of our club was never up to Premier League level, but it's obvious it's not even up to Championship level. OK maybe the manager demands these players but we need a strong influence at Technical Director level to say to the manager, whoa hang on a minute.

Not convinced afobe is a bad player, what he needs is some decent balls threaded through to him.
Give woods a go at #10 in a 4231, he will find these passes to strikers & wide men. He'd be a nightmare to play against spreading the play playing further forward pinging the ball around like Paul scholes. Tell him to shoot aswell

There was no chance of them getting the rebound because they were flat footed and slow to react. Or in Tom Ince's case, too busy throwing a tantrum. At the moment the Bristol defender clears the ball, there were six Bristol defenders all rushing to deal with the danger. The only Stoke player even moving was Allen, who at least tried to get there, albeit without much purpose. You're spot on. Tom Ince slapped his thighs and waved his arms at the bench the moment the penalty was saved. No desire to get anywhere near the re-bound. Shocking behaviour. He also whinged at Villa when Afobe picked the ball up for the penalty, and when his number was held up to be subbed off. He definitely thinks he's something special, but rarely shows it.

He probably hasn't missed one in training all season. Mind you for all his qualities penalty saving isn't Jacks forte. (To be clear - I'm not blaming Jack for Afobe's shite penalty) Afobe has missed enough penalties now, he should step aside and let someone else take them and miss. Most blamed Rowett on here for him missing it Pathetic SGS
