Without scoring three goals in a league game.
That's not bad considering the tens of millions of pound of attacking players we have. Fucking brilliant. Brilliant.

Brilliant. its the service they get....nowt to do with the strikers As with most things it is a mixture of both, there has been a noticeable lack of movement from the forwards or on most occasions the forward which coupled with a lack of quality in passing/crossing means we create very few scoring opportunities.

You could also add goals from defenders re set pieces etc....last one Bruno v Bolton?

Don't know about 'Another year' it must be the first and only calendar year in our history where we have failed to score 3 goals in a single league game?
It's quite a stunt by any measure you care to put on it!

The next two wins were Man Utd and Arsenal. We were only 34 points away from safety - and we conceded 91 goals - with a goal difference of -67! Oh joy.

Scoring three goals would be entirely counterproductive to the manager's well worked philosophy. Just scoring for us will get you dropped, as Berahino, among others, has realised.

We did well in the first half of 84 saving ourselves with a 4-0 win against Wolves on the final day of the season. We also went to Coventry and won 3-2 in February 84. In the 2nd half of 85 we were back in League 2 of course and banged 6 in against Leeds and 3 against Huddersfield and Middlesborough. I'll put my head on the block and say Calendar Year 2018 is the first in our history where we have failed to score more than 2 goals kin any league game. Does anyone know better ?!

No great shock as apart from the Blackburn game when we were 3 down we generally give up attacking after we've scored 2.

Without scoring three goals in a league game. That's not bad considering the tens of millions of pound of attacking players we have. Fucking brilliant. Brilliant. Times change. On this day in 1944, Freddie Steele made one of his few war time appearances for Stoke, on home leave from the forces. He scored 6 goals in a 9-3 thrashing of Wolves. He played for Stoke 9 times that season, scoring 20 goals, in make-shift competition as there was no official football league during the war. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freddie_Steele_(footballer)
