We've come to a point where there really is no way back. Rowett has showed he isn't up for this task, the longer you wait the worse it will get. Please, get rid when it's still time to save the season. I really never hoped I had to say this, but this clueless manager is really a big step down from Lambert. Almost everybody can see this now, I tried to stay positive, but the truth is staring into my face. Rowett isn't up for this task, it's simple and it's obvious! Please, don't hesitate, but get rid of this excuse of a manager before you lose us all! We love Stoke City, but can hardly take any more of this shite!!!

I think Coates will either remain silent this week or at best (or worst) we'll probably just get a vote of confidence in Rowett.

I think this was pretty obvious about 5 games in, but they did nothing then. I'm not optimistic.

Coates needs to either:
1. Get rid now (he won't)
2. Come out and say that Gary is his manager and they are backing him.
This silence is deafening. We need to know what is going to happen.

We have been here before 12 months ago to be precise & coates dithered then & is doing the same again. Admitted we are not in a relegation battle but nor are we looking anything like a team that can challenge for a play off place. It is very obvious lessons have not been learned the whole club is living in the dark ages & needs change from to bottom.

It’ll cost the old man too much so fully expecting no change. I wonder at what point it will dawn on him that his investment is diminishing? Unfortunately Coates is still very much in the black with what the club has made from the Premier League, it will only be when it gets into the red he will seriously consider more investment or selling up. I just don’t know why he still surrounds himself by idiots and poor advisors, unless he has lost the plot himself.

I think the fact that we look as though we won't be in danger of relegation this season means Rowett probably won't be moved on in January. Unless they have someone already lined up and ready to sign on the dotted line, I doubt if Coates will think there is a great deal of benefit in leaving the club in a position where a new manager would have a few weeks at most to choose and buy players to strengthen the side and decide who to move on - and how much of a loss we are prepared to make on any players we do move on in January. Coates will probably think that he would be better bringing a new manager in immediately the season ends (having probably agreed terms with that manager in the next month or so) and giving the new man a full summer to sort out as much dead wood as possible and as much time to get in replacements to strengthen the side.
I can see merit in that way of going about things. The downside, of course, is that the dire football we are seeing at present will be here for a few months yet. I suppose an alternative would be to go down the "Man U" route and appoint a caretaker until the summer - but I don't think Coates is the type to go for "interim" solutions to a managerial problem. I bet one thing he wishes he did have though is the type of rolling one year contract that TP was always on. A contract like that for Rowett would save the club a packet if they did decide to remove him.
What is clear is that Coates will almost certainly realise that he HAS to make a move reasonably well in advance of the parachute payments running out.

It’s crap on the field, but has anyone looked at the Clubs official partnerships lately ? If you do it gives you a good idea of how our club has fallen, how it’s being left to stagnate in any other industry it would be classed as professional suicide. From global partnerships we are now reduced to a tile distribution company, the local university, a Italian sportswear company and a group of solicitors from Cheshire ! I actually feel sorry for them to have their good names linked to the club. We have a Chief Executive who seems to be unwilling to comment about footballing matters now that the team manager is taking all the hits, maybe he would like to comment on his specialist subject, the commercial side of Stoke City ? What’s his plan for our future, how has are revenue streams being effected by relegation and how is he going about things to make up the shortfall ? I wouldn’t even mind hearing his opinion on Brexit ! Anything just to prove that he’s still there.

Yes, unfortunately, that's the way I see things panning out over the next few months.

With a decent manager, with this squad, we would still have a chance of making the play offs, can't see the sense in not wanting to move forward. Why write the season off.

Despite the dross being served up and the apparent unrest surrounding the club, on paper we've lost one of the last 12? Coates didn't do anything about Sparky when we were getting dicked every week so people wanting Rowett out have got Bob Hope.

It make more sense to write off this season, change manager immediately and build a team that is ready for next season. Otherwise we just waste this window and mark time, having to start in the summer.

Coates stated that the minimum requirement this season is the play offs... finishing mid table is not an option...does he give him more money to achieve that or has he seen enough...that is the question,it makes more sense to pay him off and give us more chance to go back to the premier league with the money that is involved getting back there....so back him or sack him,for me I hope it's the latter !!!
