On the basis that the season is over, we should be clearing the decks and getting someone in for a promotion push next year.
This guy is terrible, a chancer, a blagger, and needs to be removed. We should have been able to attract someone much better.
I hate to say it but at this point I'd genuinely consider Mad Mick McCarthy, he's at least entertaining to listen too. We are underperforming dreadfully and this needed be dealt with now. The longer he stays the more likely we will destroy any hope of getting back up anytime in the next few years.

Thankfully.

It is more of an indictment of my level of desperation to get this guy out. I genuinely think he's awful.

I’ve never been keen on quick sackings but I can’t argue with any of that. Every week you expect something better, every week you are disappointed. We need to rip it up and start again ...soon. I like Mick Mc but it wouldn’t in reality see the club in anything but a ‘holding position’. Someone needs to provide a bit of inspiration and find a manager who turn this club around completely.

We’ve been abject all season, a (very) few bright spots interspersed between week in week out dross. Can’t agree with some posters who say he’s inherited a shit show and is making progress.
This is another shit show that’s been somewhat camouflaged by a turgid unbeaten run.
Biggest budget, biggest wage bill and after half the season we get a performance like today against the team directly above us. If that improvement we’re gonna be in the shit for a long time yet

17 points, almost 6 wins behind Leeds & they spent a fraction of what we did. Concerning, what must Coates be thinking.

It isn't over yet though is it?
We're 5 points away from the play-offs and teams are dropping points all over the place (sadly so are we).
We do need to improve massively though, and I don't think Rowett has the first idea about how to do that. We'll still set up with his dreadful 4-5-1 at Bolton and at home to Bristol City and hope we can take a chance out of the very few we'll actually create.
I'd give him the next two games and sod him off if we don't win both.

The optimist in me is heartened by the fact that, despite being quite wank for 4 months, we are still somehow a couple of wins from getting into the top 6. I know that can’t go on forever but that’s a fact.
The realist in me sees no signs of Rowett being tactically adept or adaptable enough to get that run of wins required. Week after week bar the odd game (Derby and possibly Villa) we are turning in dull, thoughtless performances with a manager incapable of selecting the right team and substitutions.
Why he hasn’t even tried to play with two up front AT ALL (Other than out of sheer desperation) is fucking madness. His system is evidently not working unless his aim is to play the most boring football in history in a system that doesn’t seem to get the best of anyone.
If he can sort it, we can do something. I just don’t think he can or will.

5 points off 6th lads.
I know most of you weren’t here when we were in the lower leagues, but our season isn’t over by a long way, regardless of how poor today was

I know that can’t go on forever but that’s a fact. It's a misguided misreading of the table facts. The six points you claim for us are only good if every other team in the division started not collecting points. That of course is simply not going to happen. Moreover what makes you think we can win games?

In response to the title of the post all I can is “I hope not” if it is this season will be no less than a disaster......no excuses
The club, media and a section of the supporters (in particular the club and media) have trumpeted about our ten game unbeaten run before today, that’s thirty points to play for where we have gained eighteen. That return is average for an average team and sadly our league position doesn’t tell lies.
In the period between October 23 and now how many points have we gained on the team in sixth spot? The stato’s off the forum may be able to pin point the exact number, I’ll go for one or a maximum two. If correct there has to be a significant change in our collection of points to get into, and hang onto a play off place

We have two seasons to go up before FFP bite us in the arse and some people want us to give up, whilst 5 points off and still in December. I know emotions are running but come on. This season has many more twists and turns, not one team in this league worries me.

So many bad points I cant be bothered to deconstruct how badly the team was set up today.
Its simple sack Rowett now or this season is over.
