Not sure if this has been posted. I used to love going to Marston Rd when living in Stafford I went yesterday, rather than going to Villa, as my old Dad is a Rangers season ticket holder and I always try to get to 'El Staffico' with him when they play Hednesford Town. There was a good atmosphere and Rangers won 4-1. Just a shame the shitty weather understandably put some off - there were nearly 700 there, but you'd normally get 1000+ for Hednesford at home, and there were over 1,800 there against them on Boxing Day 3 seasons ago, I think.

On the subject of tonight's u23 match does anyone have any parking tips for Marston road - I assume the club car park is small?

There's a bit of rough car parking in front of the Ranger's social club, but if you turn left directly opposite the ground (if coming from the Common Road / Marston Road direction) off Astonfields Road onto Drummond Road, this leads directly onto a small industrial estate there where you can normally park out of hours with no problem.

Never understood why Stafford doesn't have / has never had a FL club. I know they got to the conference in the mid noughties.

Not sure if this has been posted. I used to love going to Marston Rd when living in Stafford Did my training at St Georges Hospital in 1980 and lived in Stafford, Coton Fields for 6 years. If I was on an early shift we wouldn't get off work until 2.30pm on a Saturday. This didn't give enough time to get changed and drive to Stoke for a 3.00pm kick off*. Quite often went to watch Rangers in those years. Regularly used to be 1000+ then. Went to few away games too. GD * My record was 11 minutes from St Georges Hospital to Stoke City Centre in a green Mini 1275GT. Would never get away with that now

It's a small town About 60,000 Would that make it the smallest town in the League?. Yes the surrounding areas, especially Stone, make it to maybe double that but doubt they would get much support from outside Stafford itself. The club really ought to be step two though (National north or south) and maybe National League itself. Long way from that currently.
