I'm not a fan but just seen the goals on TV and as in the Reading game he just doesn't defend , not easy on the second but he makes no attempt to put Kodja off.

In the main he’s been shocking this season.
I’d prefer Edwards (and his odd poor performance) all day long

Liam Lawrence was saying we need two new fullbacks but to give Edwards his chance and just accept he's young and will make mistakes.
Martina is a shithouse and pulls out of challenges. Slows everything down in attack! I guess he's on a season long loan?

He's the third best right back in the squade.
He looks like he only gets selected because the manager is worried that we've spent a shit load of money to get him from Everton.

Pieters didn’t exactly cover himself in glory either. He was responsible for the penalty and their second goal came from a cross on his side of the pitch too. I’d play BMI and Edwards every game for the rest of the season. Neither Martina nor Pieters are good enough.

Just imagine if we had a fully functional dependant defence!
Christ, we would be at least 10 points better off!

Pieters was fouled ahead of 2nd goal and was poleaxed on floor and it was never a penalty in a million years. We had been told pre match how good their right winger was and he was subbed because pieters never gave him a sniff

Pieters isn’t Maldini but he’s by far our most consistent defender. RB and CB are where our biggest issues are though I do think he needs cover.

Should have got up on his feet and tracked back rather than pussying about on the floor. Completely opened up that side of the pitch with the gap he left. I thought we looked pretty solid yesterday and felt both centre halves were untroubled. The right back is a problem but bolaise would cause anyone problems. We restricted them to 2 chances and a penalty whilst creating plenty ourselves. I don't recall Jack making a save of note

Ryan’s been a great servant and I like Williams but we need more pace in the middle and I’m not convinced by any of our RBs defensive qualities though I think I’d persevere with Edwards as he’s still learning and will get better with games. Promising signs though that we can go toe to toe with anyone.

El Ghazi didn’t have a sniff in that game, so much so he was taken off. Erik had another good game.

Still a bit surprised that Bauer isn't getting another chance. From what we could see last season he has more potential than the two being preferred to play in this position.

I thought Johnson was bad for been out of position when the ball was played down our right side, but Martina is even worse,I'm sure half the time he isn't even in our half of the pitch.

Their second goal is just embarrassing on Martina’s part. He’s done the hard bit in managing to stick to his man, then he doesn’t even need to win the header, he just needs to challenge and at least make it difficult for the attacker to get any real purchase on the header. Instead he just stands there and allows Kodjia a free header.

I’d play Edwards, stick Bauer on the right wing and move Ince to the centre behind the striker as it looks like Rowett has no intention of utilising Bojey-cakes again...

Think about the poor defending over the past two years and then compare that to the 2nd goal yesterday. It was as bad as anything we've seen ever. Pathetic.
The non-selection of an England U20 right back and his pig headed refusal to let him develop into an asset for the club is an absolute disgrace.

He’s not very good really, is he? The weakest part of his game is defending, so, not ideal.
Then again, he’s earning £40k per week, playing for a club he’s got no affinity to, and is probably unlikely to want to put his head in where it hurts, when it comes to it.
Edwards isn’t the answer yet, either, so, new RB please.
