Stevetheboater The main difference that I can see is that loan deals will be deemed non discriminatiary where as stipulating how many people come from certain countries would be seen as discriminating.
I suppose in 'real' life if a firm outwardly said we already employ 200 Polish workers out of 300 staff and we want to cut it down to 100 by year xxxx then there would be hell up. The arguement will be 'why is football different'
Personally I think the main problem in football is the uncompetitive nature of the top league. Most of the big boys could field two teams which would come in the top four or five the rest of us couldn't field one team to come close!
I personally think by reducing the squad sizes to amaximum of say 22 players and if you get injuries suspensions etc TOUGH SHIT! This would automatically re-distribute many teams second elevens to the 'other' teams. How many great players are playing two games a season whilst lesser players are playing whilst carrying knocks at 'lesser' clubs?

I think the 6ft 5 rule will be great for Stoke. All players to be over this height, well we are already ahead of the game! If we can get Crouch then that will be us sorted although with this rule he will be more expensive than Ronaldo
