That was his bloody job though. When I do my job successfully I'm rewarded with a monthly paycheque and I expect nothing else because THAT IS MY JOB. Since when did a normal worker earn his employer shit loads of money and get paid a bonus equivalent to 2 years salary. These type of people make my bloody blood boil - its all self self self and greed greed greed. He'll retire, get his £5m handshake and walk into an "advisory" role for a few hours a week for someone else for hundreds of thousands a year. Sums up the shortness of modern society This in an age when thousands are living on the streets. I agree, but the facts are that people in all walks of life and professions get bonuses. he has received one every year with bigger ones when the deals are signed

Deserves every penny. Now 100 years has past since WW1 ended we should hold a Richard Scudamore collection for him every year and genourously give to the army of ex footballers, who will, no doubt, grace every high street throughout the land, come wind or rain, to collect for such a worthy cause. Perhaps we should have a minutes applause 5 mins into the next home game to show our own gratitude.
Hats of to Scudamore............HURRAHHH!!!!

Whilst the money is obscene, he has done a very good job in selling the product of the Premier League.

It's the most ridiculous idea. They are so detached from reality it's unreal.
The guys already a multi millionaire. He doesn't need the money.
The rich keep getting richer. The divide keeps getting bigger; in all realms of life, not just football.
Its not quite the same thing, but it reminds me of this I saw the other day....
"I have 1000 Mars bars in my fridge and my mate has 1 in his. I pressured him into giving his to a homeless person. This is how celeb charity appeals work."

Update the National Anthem "God Save King Scudamore"
Could at least make him a Sir FFS.

At least we don't have to pay it despite being there for 10 years. Cardiff have been there three months and have to pay 😅 I wouldn't be surprised if we've had to pay a smaller amount out of our parachute payment.

It's things like this within football that really pisses me off about the game today!!!
Top level Football is all about making MILLIONS now, not just a living....but MILLIONS!!! And all it's done is create an arrogance within the top leagues, Champions league and international football, and all those connected with it!!!
I don't watch any of it these days on tv However, I do enjoy watching lower league clubs on tv when they show cup games!!!
Anyhow, back to the point..... £5M is a fuckin rediculous amount as a parting "gift".....give him a fuckin Seiko watch and be done with!!!

Where's Malcolm - interested to hear his view on this ….. I'm here now, redstriper My views are pretty much the same as everyone else's. It's terrible PR but that doesn't seem to bother them. As Sheik said above, yes, he has done an effective job in landing huge media contracts, but he actually got bonus payments for those - so it's like a double bonus. An engraved watch and a leaving do - yes of course - but £5m We did a statement on it. www.fsf.org.uk/latest-news/view/statement-on-proposed-golden-handshakeWould Stoke have agreed it if we had still been in the PL ?
