Rowett is a terrible manager. For my own sanity I want to stay open minded as long as possible, but it’s really starting to show isn’t it? Lambert was blasted because “any moron could sort that defence”. But it somehow shows that Rowett is an astute manager? As others have said, with the resources available, the squad we retained, there’s no excuses. “Judge me on this team” wasn’t it? Ok Gaz.

In Rowetts defence he's got God awful defensive options. I love Shawcross but he's struggling, robably terminally. Whoever is to blame for that is one thing, but Rowett now has us as hard to beat and you can see the difference in the players. Particularly Jack. We need to stay "in touch" so we can sign some decent players in January. Afobe and Ince are disappointing at the moment but there's time. We used to give players time to adjust back in the day. We having fielding 5, 6 or 7 new outfield faces this year, plus Berahino, who might as well be. They are at least starting to look more like a team. Rowetts job in the summer was to bring in the players to sort out the defence, and he failed. He brought in two players on the slide in their careers who can't run very fast, so they don't suit what he wanted to do and now we have reverted to ultra defensive conservative football which is still failing to win games. It is shit, shit, shit, with the resources he had available it is pure madness to describe what Rowett has done so far as anything other than miserable failure. Bye bye Norwich, 11 points ahead already Rowetts job is to sort us out get us promoted. He hasnt failed yet. I'm generally pleased with the signings, impressed he is getting anything out of Berahino and reassured he's managed to turn around what looked like potential relegation form by tightening up defence. All things that lacked under the last manager. It bodes well. No denying we still need strengthening, especially at the back, but actually I think he seems to be "managing" pretty well. Even if I dont agree with every decision.

I think the answer to why we were not rinsed is quite self explanatory. Rowett is not doing bad considering the absolute bag of shite he inherited. We could have easily gone the way of sunderland. Utter utter nonsense. Butland, bruno, pieters, Williams, Woods, Allen, Afobe,Ince walk in to any other team in this league. They are performing far below capability. Wake up man!!!! Not forgetting Crouch, Clucas when fit, Diouf, would also all get into all teams in this league except maybe west brom. Every other coach has referred to the star quality we have available. We have the best talent in the league I was enjoying your post till you mentioned Diouf ,the guy is garbage

To my eye's he's been the best player in the side a few times. Not worth his wages I grant you, but that's not Rowett's fault that's for sure. And it's more than we saw for the man who chased him, signed him and put him on those ridiculous wages.

But he hasn't scored goals and that's the bottom line. Either because he's a waster, or because Rowett is using him incorrectly out on the wing or dropping in too deep instead of being a striker with Afobe. Eitherway it is Rowett's fault to persist with a system that doesn't produce goals. However shite Berahino has been, it doesnt have to be that way, he's not being played to his strengths. Diouf = Striker - So he puts him on the wing Bobo = Forward so he plays him deep or on the bench Afobe = Not a target man - so he plays him as a lone striker tasked with holding the ball up Allen = Caged midfielder - so he plays him as a number 10 Berahino = poacher - so he plays him on the left wing or deep. He's directly responsible for turgid ineffective football, He's got the players to go and maul teams but he mugs them all off by stubbornly persisting with his system.

For the players we have available, for the money spent on the team, to go out with no intention of winning games in the second division, is an absolute fucking crime. Atleast I'm not the only one that thinks that.

No one is expecting us to roll over every team we play but there is no excuse for any manager to set the team up the way he does. 50 million or so spent and playing for a point as he is shit scared of losing a game is unacceptable.

He's got less bollocks than Pulis had when he wanted to park the bus. At least Pulis managed to foster the us against the world mentality with a bunch of misfits. Rowett hasn't got thst excuse. He has one of the best squads in the league and he's managed to take us back to a Championship team with a Championship mentality rather than a briefly exiled Premiership team that are fighting to get back (a la Newcastle or West Ham) in no time at all.
It already feels like years since we were a Premier League team, admittedly partly due to Hughes losing the plot for 2 years previously. He goes hand in hand with our owners and their mentality. "Little old Stoke" playing shit football.
