MrsBath has just blagged us free Amazon Prime for a month & I watched Interstellar. Now I know it's been out for some years, but what a £@#&!n trip that is. It's nigh on 3hrs long, but worth every penny. Loads of you must have seen it already, whatst think...

I just pay the £100 notes a year with the films books and music I use each month it’s a bargain And yeah it’s a good film a better watch a second time. Which to be fair applies to all of Nolan’s films I’ve seen

I went to see Interstellar at the cinema twice. Trawling his back catalog would be a wise move. The batman trilogy is amazing (I’m barely into comic book type films btw) and should be seen if only to witness the late Heath Ledger’s performance as the joker in the second part of that trilogy. Also, I think Dunkirk is a masterpiece. If you’ve not seen it already you should get round to it.

I came out thinking .....meh
A complete stranger who sat next to me got up and said.....well That was a complete waste of an evening
Not sure if she was disappointed with the film or she expected me to fumble around with her

Watch it mate. Just keep an open mind. I went to see it and, despite having my heart in my throat for the entirety, left somewhat disappointed. It was only on subsequent viewings that the moments of beauty became more clear, like some of the greatest LPs that you need time to process. When those moments of beauty eventually reveal, it makes the distress worthwhile. Such as life itself.

Its not distressing it's really quite tame compared to films like private Ryan Dunkirk...Far too repetitive, boring and very weak film The Luftwaffe scenes attacking the beaches was so timid it made me angry Those sort of scenes should be shown in their absolute full horror to highlight what the poor buggers had to endure Looking through his films in obviously that a fan I'll step away 😊

I subscribe to Amazon Prime and think it is excellent value for money with more TV than I can watch at a time that I find terrestrial viewing poor and boring.
Watched a great true story movie last week “The Way Back”. Prisoners escaping from a goulag in Siberia walk to India!!
A 4000+ Mille journey with unbelievable hardships, and stunning cinematography through Forrest’s, across deserts, and over the Himalayas.

Not a bad film, thrilling, but Tom Hardy would never be let anywhere near a Spitfire carrying all that timber!

Thrilling is definitely the right word, in fact I think Nolan himself said that he sought to make a thriller themed on the event as opposed to a war film. Like I say, I truly believe it’s a masterpiece and I’ve seen it multiple times now, but it’s only subsequent viewings that have led me to that opinion. Have to disagree with the poster who said the bombing scenes were tame. I went to see in imax and those Stuka sirens were haunting. Imagine being trapped on that beach and hearing that sound, knowing full well that you’re basically in a sick game of Russian roulette and that in a minutes time some of you will be dead.
