Sorry I kno this thread is on its way down and probably not many people give 2 hoots but I need put this on. I’ve just read Lennon is considering his position due to the abuse he received in the edinborough derby, and he’s said it’s because he played for and managed Celtic, is Irish and catholic. Now that is fucking bollocks my friend. Bringing religion nationality politics all sorts into it because some fan was pissed off the way he goaded them for the disallowed goal. See this all too often in all walks of life. It wud of happened anywhere, because of the way he acted. Classless, disrespectful. Sure every1 agrees but needed get it off my chest. Boiled my piss I'm not sure that Lennon is saying that the coin throwing was motivated by religious hatred - more that the abuse that he got from the opposition fans before the game had even started was clearly sectarian. He may be right but as I wasn't there I don't know what the fans did before the game or why. But, whether he is right or wrong to accuse them of sectarianism, I suspect his comments today are an attempt to make the authorities forget the way he provoked the fans after the disallowed goal. Two (or three) wrongs don't make a right. If the opposition fans did step over the line before the game then they/their club should be punished. So should the fan who threw the the coin, if he can be identified. And so should Lennon for deliberately provoking the fans after the disallowed goal. He quite clearly did a lot to provoke the criminal act of coin throwing.

The fans give shit out from the off then cry like babies when they get some back I remember we played Mansfield away in about 1990 and they had a player called Trevor Christie who was getting merciless shit from the travelling Stoke support, they had a corner and he stood by the post and called one lad a wanker who was non stop, he ran to the police and reported him, pathetic Neil Lennon gets it relentless every away game and was physically attacked at Tynecastle about 5 years ago whilst managing Celtic He’s probably sick to the back teeth of it and thought “ you know what this is my chance” when that injury time goal was ruled out Fair play to him

He went to some lengths to get himself beaten up in the street and to send himself bullets and home made bombs to goad other fans too. He’s not that far away with his comments in my opinion. Scotland is a sectarian cess pit for everyone- and all sides are guilty of it- but he has had more shit than most. Telling how he never experienced it in years in England.

I have no accurate idea of the events, or who provoked what in which order, but Lennon has featured in so much "controversy" over a fair few years that I tend to follow the "lowest common denominator" approach.
So, I deem Lennon a prize twat
