I can’t see the 3pm ban being lifted altogether as crowds would surely be effected. Though the midweek SKY Red button option and the foreign country season ticket is the start of change. If there is the potential of additional revenue then leagues and clubs will be keen. There has been talk of providing full live game coverage of your team if you live a certain distance away from the ground. No doubt you would have to prove your address to gain access, but for someone like me living in Aberdeenshire and who can’t attend regularly then it’s an untapped revenue stream. IMHO the midweek red button thing is to get everyone into the idea of it. When it finally gets confirmed it'll be less of a shock. I agree, it’s the first stage towards greater/total individual coverage. It’s a no-brainer as customers will pay for another service not currently available. Clubs wil then need increased compensation as attendances would be effected. Though I still think there we will be a a exclusion zone so local fans still attend.
