I'll have to suggest to the running club a dress up run then on Thursday evening No you fool you don't want more clothes on them I like the slutty idea, these cold nights they tend to be covered all over in lycra leggings and waterproof jackets, a little sexy looking face painting won't go amiss as well

Main thing that pisses me off with Halloween is women!!
Go on and on at you about sorting a costume for some party or other (and if you don't then you must be a miserable bastard who doesn't know how to have "fun"), so you sort one and then what happens? The woman comes downstairs not in an actual Halloween "costume" at all, but some normal sexy clubbing outfit that they'd wear at any weekend (that they call a Halloween costume because it happens to be black) and she just sticks a pair of devil horns on her head and that's it.
So basically, they arrive at the party/pub/club dressed pretty much normally and us blokes have to stand in a pub all night looking like prize twats with fucking full clown costumes etc.
It's not even the fact it's an "American thing" or the commercial aspect for me..it's the fact that most women have now just turned it into a "dress up sexy while you blokes look like fucking gimps all night in the pub" night

Thoughts on it. I like it to be honest even if i dont do much. I know its more American. Fun to go to parties and dress up. Shame not going one this year. Anyway main question im going to see some friends next wed. Im poping Hanley sat so my visit HMV. Can anyone recommend a genuinely scary movie.i want to get one that will freak us out. I went to see Halloween re make on sun. It was ok but just another oh so a guy with a knife slashes people. So any film suggestions welcome. Although the yanks have monetized and exploited it I think it started in ire6

In many cultures Halloween is seriously serious, so don't knock it. My film recommendation if you haven't seen it is Don't Look Now. Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie. 1970's Very spooky tale set in Venice but not a Halloween Horror as such. But very haunting and lots of unexpected odd bits and will keep you awake with no problem. Don't let anyone tell you how things work out as a spoiler. Not one for the kids at all.

Halloween ... some odd mix of Ireland (Samhain) and the Vikings (Höstblot) plus a portion of US. I don't like changes. 30 years ago we didn't celebrate Halloween at all here.
Now we have FOUR days in a row. 31st October Halloween 1st November Allhelgonaafton (All Saints Eve) 2nd November Alla Helgons dag (All Saints Day) 3rd November Allhelgonadagen (All Souls Day, when decorating the graveyards)
4 days, more than Christmas. More days celebrating death than birth. A sign of our time.

I lock the front door and ignore the doorbell. Quite right, I do the same. Against my "advice" this year my wife bought several bags of sweets and chocolate biscuits for the local kids when they come to the house tonight, and as I write this we've had precisely NONE ringing the doorbell.

Sod the local kids, I'll have some free chocolate. No unbranded shite though, I demand the finest in Halloween confectionery.

I saw it advertised earlier. I considered watching it, but now I’m too scared!

Went around the dead centre of Stoke earlier, wasn't too spooky. Mind you, it was 13:00 and the only thing that was spooked was a couple of dossers in a tent who didn't hear my stealth cycle approaching and jumped a fucking mile.
