That’s another issue, the type of manger the owners go for. Constantly doing the same thing expecting different results. We need to change that way of thinking, Who would I go for, I’ve no answer to that, we are a struggling championship team, with a very poor set of players, any decent managers wouldn’t now come to us and the added bonus of working under Cartwright and Scholes too I can’t see us as an attractive team for a decent manager to join us now. We should change that way of thinking, but we won’t. That’s very much part of the problem. I disagree we’re not an attractive proposition, we’re still one of the biggest clubs in the league for now, especially with the squad we’ve got and the resources we have. Do you honestly think we have a good squad of players though, really?

I think we are still attractive enough, but purely down to budget and parachute payments. It's so difficult to guage whether or not it's players the manager or a bit of both. Key issues for me: System/Set-up for each game Substitutions Our left hand side Individual errors Signings/favouritism I'm definitely swaying a lot more towards Rowett being the problem but from a solution standpoint literally who is there? I would definitely be monitoring (Christ even I'm at it now!) the situation at Fulham as Jokanovic for me would be my go-to person. I agree with the left side, McClean doesn't contribute. Subs can be annoying. Individual errors aren't his fault Signings have almost all improved us. System/set up has led to us dominating almost all games we've played since Wigan. Only individual errors have let us down. I agree with a lot of that. Individual errors fair play it's not on him at all. Signings improved us - not overly convinced but just my opinion Good: Ince Afobe Etebo (not sure it was his) Woods (100%) Bad: Martina Williams (not convinced) JM (terrible) So more positive than negative but take away Etebo and it's 50/50, which again maybe normal-ish for most managers but we couldn't afford that in my opinion this season but we're never going to get the full details I suppose. His Subs are woeful but this is nothing new. It's very rare our subs have a positive effect on a tight game. But we do all see it differently and from what I wanted in the summer we are no where near.

Rowetts issue his he hasn't followed his template. His experience his managing teams with little resources, getting them organised and difficult to break down.
He has been asked to do more here and doesnt know what to do. It is one step forward then two steps back all the time.
I hope we have sounded out Moyes again, though personally I wish we would look abroad

I didn't see the norwich game but it sounds like we were battered. I didn't see yesterday but although we had possession everyone says we created nothing. But I would genuinely like to hear a different view, and to feel more positive as I feel like giving up on this season. What was good about our performance yesterday?

Genuinely we were patient and looked calm and collected on the ball all game. We controlled it for 90 minutes. We had parts of the game where we dropped intensity but no team is on it for 90 mins. We created a few decent chances against a very resolute and defensive Birmingham side (who were 8 unbeaten), and Ince and Bojan were at the heart of those. We never looked like conceding, and but for one daft defensive mistake, we wouldn't have done. Our patient possession game showed through well, and all we lacked was the odd touch here and there in the final third. That said, we gave up on it far too early, and resorted to Charlie Adam twatting it out of play or over the bar for no reason. All in all, we got done by a smash and grab, it happens, let's move on to tuesday!

And some ‘names’ that you’d think managers would like to work with even if they’re not currently doing the business.

We have possession but can’t do nowt with it, we have no idea. We can’t break teams down. We can’t defend So what is the point in Rowett? I think it’s still just about too early to judge. I don’t particularly like the bloke, but do we just ignore the upturn before yesterday and the good stuff in the first half an hour yesterday and only focus on the bad stuff, get rid and start again? Or do we give it a run of games to see if we can find some more consistent cohesion and put some results together? honestly i went yesterday with an open mind but it was just the same we start ok but dont score keep diddling about with the ball the opposition grow more confident and eventually score. people saying we are improving are wrong we are in fact treading water, Rowett s subs are bizarre similar to Hughes, i dont think Rowett has a clue how to play any other way and is one dimensional. i dont think we are going anywhere soon.

He’s not a defensive manager but he’s not an attacking manager either, 1 man up front! He’s not progressive is his set up, tactics, shape or substitutions, I’m not really sure I or even he knows what sort of manager he is. The best I can describe him is that he’s a safety first manager who is tactically limited and appears to be shit scared of the opposition, setting up his teams to nullify the opposition rather than playing to our strengths, if he indeed knows what they are. He is what he is, a manager who has done nothing exceptional in his managerial career, never won anything, never got anyone promoted, yet our board in their wisdom believed that he was the man to trust. Words fail me on why we always fish in our familiar stagnant small pool, rather than look beyond the archetypal British manager. The majority of managers have never won anything. Perhaps we thought we would be getting the next Eddie Howe? Nope we just went for someone with experience of the championship, British and “safe”. We had a real chance to do something different but bottled it, safety first as always.

There weren't many options when it became evident that a defence that conceded hatfuls last season even with an England keeper behind them was in fact a liability. Who'd have guessed.

It doesn't work so Rowshit has to change it or be removed from his job. We can't carry on as it stands. A change of system is needed ASAP which allows us to attack. We don't really have the personnel for 3-5-2 unless Clucus plays wing back and then the other issue is the one who could play right wing back he doesn't speak to, the immature twat that he is. Looks like 4-4-2 is the only option. In doing so, two of Allen, Woods, Etebo and Clucus won't play which he doesn't seem to want to happen. I suppose Clucus could play left. McClean is only ever going to be a sub in my eyes he is so limited (nice one pizza boys). The other alternative and my favourite is bring in a manager who can motivate and organise a team to play the polar opposite to what Rowshit does. Well win one or two here and there but the default for Rowshitt is what we we saw yesterday and I think always will be . Its called foresight , and the owners of this club seem to have none. Hes a mistake now move on. No win in next three and he has to be gone ASAP. Hate his interviews I cringe. YAWN

What exactly is the polar opposite of what Rowett does - 334 with Butland as the lone striker? Also how do you expect a new manager to get a squad put together by Rowett to play the polar opposite of what they were brought in to do? That really is a recipe of disaster.

You're a frigging masochist. To me we patiently kept the ball and looked to attack when spaces opened up. We were one or two good first touches/passes from a clear chance on several occasions. When you're not on your game in the final third, you don't beat teams like that. I don't think we were as ponderous as people are saying though.

There is that aswell. I'm not totally bought into the fact that both of those names were firmly down to the transfer team though. I imagine they are 2 players who became available and that Rowett was happy to take once the Chester move died a death (also not his fault) Of all my points, set up and substitutions are just criminal and Saturday was a borderline joke.

It wasn't the sort of possession that tires out opposition, they basically let us play with it as much as we liked in the safe knowledge we couldn't hurt them. Now I'm not saying Charlie should start but his introduction was a blessed relief to the utter tedium that went before.

We looked far more likely to score and less likely to concede when we had complete control of the ball in the centre of the park. I'll admit we didn't create much clear cut but Allen should have done better with his chance and some of the cutbacks the wide players put in needed to be a lot better. But crucially, we were getting in behind.
Then Rowett withdraws Bojan for Adam and Afobe for Crouch and we start to "get it forward" but we completely lose the legs in the middle and the ball retention. Lo and behold Birmingham pick it up, aren't swamped in Midfield and Che Adams is allowed to drift right through the middle (where we'd been holding easily prior to the subs) to score.
Some of the play and interchange we did on Saturday was very good and I was saddened to see it abandoned when we were in complete control of the game....sometimes you've just got to keep the faith a bit, sadly the only faith a lot of fans have is in the old ways and players like Crouch and Adam...to those people...look where that has got us.

Didn’t blame Adam, I said we lost control of the middle when our best ball retention player went off. Adam came on and put crosses in as he does, but the counter was you lose the possession in the centre. Indi and Pieters losing their bearings on Adams were the most culpable. I agree Rowett was to blame.

long and short is we are dogshit, the teams (except Norwich) we have beat have been even shitter
the Norwich result was an anomaly, we will finish very low in this table
but saying that im glad im back to caring, the prem became a pointless 10 year struggle for survival with very little to play for, every win now feels like something again, every loss really really hurts and that makes me love it even more
