Allegedly going to be fit and raring to go after the international break, missing piece of the puzzle as a left winger?

I hope so
As already said I donβt rate McClean at all
Offers nothing

Clucas will be excellent if he keeps fit. Itβs great to see us going in the right direction.

I'm guessing Etebo will be dropped and he will come in as a left sided central midfielder, that can cover the left wing and left back.

McClean won't be dropped. Not a chance. Folk were saying he wouldn't pick Bojan a week ago. Saying that he won't pick Clucas ahead of McClean is unfounded bullshit.

He doesn't have to drop McClean to leave him out of the side. There will be plenty of games where other players will be preferred to McClean. It's a squad game.

Not sure why everyone is so excited about Clucas. Never seemed good enough when I saw him with Hull and Swansea, and he's coming off a major injury layoff. Obviously I want him to come good, but think he is unlikely to be a regular starter for us.

The way Allen and Woods pick up yellows I think he will play alot more than you expect.

I can see him providing backup for Ince on the right. It's the equivalent of McClean coming on for Saido on the left - provides more defensive cover. Also gives the option of McClean going to the right and Clucas on the left if we need to shut up shop or the fullbacks are getting overloaded.

Should take Fletcher's place on the bench.
He'll have to play himself into the side somewhere, and it might be a case of waiting for someone to have a bad run of form.

McLean is a left back he's just not been discovered yet π Out of interest what makes you think that? He can't tackle and makes very rash decisions. I think he would be an absolute liability.

And as a fb overlapping it would give the team the benefit of a fullback that can cross too. Erik playing well atm though but if he gets a suspension or a knock I'd try mclean out. Nothing ventured nothing gained

Nothing ventured nothing gained Can he cross? He has his off days but didn't he have a knock and was said too be not as fit as the rest of the team? I think There is more to come from McLean & he'll improve (needs games) π I do think though that a team of our stature should offer more guile on either flank in terms of attacking

Another McClean bashing thread i see. offers nothing going forward despite scoring and assisting in 2 of his last 3 stoke games
Your that desperate to pick on the lad for anything that you will call for Sam Clucas to take his place.
Just so we all are aware of the full facts over the last 3 years mclean has more goals and more assists than Clucas so if your going to call for someone else to play there clearly Clucas isnt the answer.
