I've ten tiny ceiling lights and had them in the house for 16 years, and they have all just stopped working. The bulbs look like they are of the halogen type and they are 9V 10w. Would I be correct in thinking that these must work off a transformer, or could they possibly be direct into the mains somehow? If there has to be a transformer, then it's going to be somewhere under the floorboards Am I bollocksed?

Transformers will be in the ceiling Richie just pop out the fitting and the transformers will be close by just ease out the cable . I used to have them and changed the transformers myself . I had one transformer per fitting but I believe some have less . Just had mine replaced with LED,s no transformers and the bulbs last for ever so I'm told ,

I have 6 lights per transformer. Each light daisy chains off the last so if the transformer were to pack up i`d have to find light 1, then pull that through the hole.

It's on the same circuit as a normal light, and that light is fine.
