The players aren't performing for the manager and they haven't performed for previous managers. The current manager still plays them. Because our alternatives are no better? But are they any worse?

I heard the interview and think Rowett was spot on about the players and lets face it some deserve to be dropped. He is only saying what so many on here have been saying for ages and yet there's some who seem to be telling him to shut up. I'd be fuming too in his position. As for getting in Allardyce, those calling for him can fuck off. Even Guardiola couldn't turn Shawcross and Martins Indi and Peiters into a decent defence. And Bauer is an obvious TWONK.Its just a pity that January is 3 months away. He is picking the players that deserve to be dropped. Responsibility is not like an overcoat you cannot take it off on match days. He is the manager the buck stops with him. he should resign. Also maybe Rowett is the "TWONK" The players deserve a bollocking.

It's a truly unbelievable comment from a football manager ... I genuinely can't remember any manager of any team ever making a comment like that in over 40 years of watching football. He's finished here, isn't he? The word "untenable" certainly springs to mind after all this regarding his position. The problem is though (as my mate Bev rightly mentions during her call), this is the 3rd manager now who has openly spoken of players not training hard enough, causing problems in the dressing room with their overall attitude and quite simply not being up to muster. If Rowett goes then who else can we bring in when there's obviously serious problems with some people behind the scenes and we're stuck with them until at least January? Lambert said he was shocked at the lack of discipline etc at the club when he came as well....in other words Hughes berated players/dropped them to U23s, Lambert did the same plus expelled some players from the squad for the rest of the season and now Rowett's said all this. He's made it very hard for him to continue with this lot after this interview, but at the same time made it very easy for the club now to use him as a whipping boy and therefore ignore what are clear problems with certain other members of the non-playing staff. If 3 managers in a row are all saying the same thing, then simply replacing the manager is a massive case of papering over what must be absoluetely huge chasms behind the scenes isn't it? It may have been daft to say it so publicly, but it's pretty obvious that saying it behind closed doors to the powers that be hasn't achieved anything over the last 18 months, so although it may cost him his job, it may be a good thing for us in the long run that someone in a position of authority has finally had the balls to say pretty much exactly what we've all been saying on here. At least the club can't hide away from it anymore and try to placate us with all the "What's all the fuss about" bollocks and treating us like we're fucking idiots. If he goes and no one further up the chain takes any repsonsibility then i fail to see what good getting rid of him would actually do. Spot in but this particular patsy has made it very easy or deflect from the real issues

Won’t disagree with that but I don’t think they’d have backed him as they didn’t think it necessary You may be right mate but they sanctioned the Williams deal and that must be costing us several Mil with nothing to show at the end of it. Really poor value. Someone like Mepham would have been fantastic value with a resale at the end. And as we know Brentford are prepared to sell. Our players who "aren't good enough" go out on loan to take above us and play for teams above (better?) Then us??? Others we sign sit on the bench for like you said, millions, and almost celebrate opposition goals 🤪. We just are very good at this football thing are we. The entire club.. And I know it has been done to death, but it's just not very well run at all. Club with jobs for the boys. Wrong DNA. Past it players. Joke media. Shocking fan support. Dark ages etc. Sad to see from a distance, must be harder somehow to be close by with no influence what so ever.

I think GR's comments are the least controversial , I have ever heard
Every one knows he is right in what he says
The only point of interest is , can he sort this mess out???
I don't know , but I wish him luck , because this club is a gravy train for players and executives , purely out to line their own pockets .
If he can sort this shambles out ( a big if ) , he is a contender for manager of the season .

Because our alternatives are no better? Whose fault is that? Rowett had all summer to assess his defence. He did want Chester and Davies before that. Appears to have not been too bothered about a left back other than Knudsen who was probably just a back up option Whoever is manager has to sign at least two decent defenders in January.

Quite clearly he did want some battle hardened championship defenders. He ended up with Ashley Williams.

Because our alternatives are no better? Whose fault is that? The board for giving new contracts and not backing him all the way and just offering him cheap options. The players he really wanted have been good ones as have his targets Knudson, Gayle, Ritchie etc. It’s obvious they haven’t backed him to the extent they wanted and have been more interested in offering new contracts to players he didn’t want.

We were up for going big for Ritchie. Newcastle didn’t sign a replacement and he started the season in their team in the Premier League. What should we have done? Offered £30m?
