if we signed him that would really show our intentions, he can score goals in the prem, he fits the pulis mould (big and black)

There is also this from the BBC gossip column that indicates Harewood will leave Villa: -
Aston Villa are lining up a £2m move for Chareloi striker Mouhamadou Habib as a replacement for Marlon Harewood who is wanted by Stoke, Fulham and Rangers. (Daily Mirror)

mmmmm, interesting, i'd say fulham would be favourites though. London always a big attraction, is he a london lad?

Hi may names Marlon Harewood I'm at a career junction, here are my options 1.Move to one of the newly promoted Premier League sides, play a relegation battle season against tough Premier League opposition and probably only get to score a handfull of goals. I may earn 15 to 20 grand a week. 2. Move to Scotland and play for European Semi-Finalists Rangers. Play a title chasing season against tin pot Scottish sides and could well score 30 goals+. I will probably earn over 20k a week. I just don't know what to do ! I know if I was Marlon Harewood it would be a fairly simple choice

Harewood is from Nottingham (started with Forest as a kid), so we could be favourite from a location perspective.
He would be an ideal Pulis forward - big, strong, physical and pacey: a Premiership version of Mama.
He is worth spending £3-4 million on as our top striker signing.

agreed, i think he is exactly the kind of player we should be looking at. a real handful for defenders, remember watching liverpool v villa earlier this season, villa were 1 down harewood came on and terrorised hyppia, 5 mins later villa were 2-1 up harewood getting one of the goals.
not a world beater by any means but with him and fuller up front we would always be likely to pinch a goal or two.

i still prefer the idea of ebanks blake to harewood. both would be nice! fuller and mama as back up.

Harewood wont move back south unless it's for obscenes amount of money. I can't see him going Scotland either.
I should think we are in pole position for his signature.

Ebanks-Blake completely unproven at Prem level
Harewood a handful and has scored goals there
No brainer for me

Lets have faith people instead of already circumming to being relegated before the season has even started.

Got to say that he is worth splashing a bit of cash out on. An ideal partnership with fuller and could surprise a few of the doubters. Would be nice to see next season anyway

Harewood would be an immense signing. The guy can score goals, he just hasn't been given a chance at Villa. This is a player we simply HAVE to sign. No change that we have competition for his signature but lets hope Coates,Scholes, Rudgey and Tone get this deal rubber stamped. I'd love to see Harewood come in.

We are going to be in a relegation battle. Crazy optimism is as useless as pessimism. I'm optimistic that it's a relegation battle that we may well just win.

So what you are saying is that it doesnt matter what players we bring in, we will be in a relegation battle come what may. What a piss poor attitude.

We're an unfashionable club and favourites to come straight back down, that makes it hard to attract quality players, and we need 6-8 of those in to have any chance whatsoever. I have faith that Pulis can bring them in, but when you look at the quality in other Prem sides, it's going to be a struggle, no question.
I think we'll have a real good go at survival, and I'm looking forward to it.
I'm a realist.

I think Pulis has the credentials to pull us through should we be involved in a relegation scrap, saying that we may do a Reading during their first season and surprise a few people. Either way, TP is the man to guide us.

would be a top signing inmy view, a player with prem experiance who knows where the goal is. Just the sort of player we should be going after. Im confident tp will get it right.
