Should have got MOTM tonight, had a lot of stick lately and rightly so as he’s been poor. I think Woods holding the midfield together will allow Allen to come back out his shell. Another win Saturday now please!

Surprised Woods got MOM, thought Allen was better. Both had good games but Allen edged it for me.

Woods is on honeymoon.
Allen is our 'whipping boy du jour' at the moment.

I’m not sure about this at all. Take away his (offside) goal and his performance was patchy at best. His work rate is good but his passing and decision making at times are dreadful. He’s never looked the same player in a Stoke shirt as I remember him being for Liverpool or Wales for that matter.

He barely misplaced a pass all night. Was in the right place on two key Swansea breaks and had a massive second wind in the last twenty which he wasn’t able to find on sat, Allen’s best performance in a long while but woods clearly MOTM tonight.

Be interesting to see how many interceptions he made compared to everyone else.
He seemed to be everywhere.

Marvellous performance from wee Joe tonight, especially that second half. Won't you agree, Bayern?

Be interesting to see how many interceptions he made compared to everyone else. He seemed to be everywhere. Trouble is if he gives the ball away as many times as he wins it back they cancel each other out and we're essentially left with Taz of Taz-Mania fame, only with a nice ball across to Afobe in the first half and the only goal in a 1-0 win. Taz never did that did he?

Opinions eh, I thought he was average again, his first touch invariably ends in his 2nd touch being a tackle.

Felt he should have been stepping back ten yards first twenty mins which would have allowed us to use woods. Him and etebo just stayed up and left the defence zero options, woods had 4 men on him.

Allen was fucking brilliant tonight.
He clearly knew he had a wank game last time out, flying in with tackles, 110% effort and closing down, making positive runs.
Certainly not perfect though, there were misplaced passes etc.
But very well done tonight, MOM for me. Woods a close 2nd.

Great performance. His normal hectic / energetic display paid off. Having Woods in the midfield allows him to do what he does best, Allen was at his best previously when he had Whelan in the midfield. Without that type of midfielder he isn't the same and can get caught out.

He was marginally better than in recent weeks, but he’s still the weak link in that midfield. He loses the ball far too often and doesn’t do much else.

He did score though right? Technically, no, he was offside. But for once we got a dodgy refereeing decision going our way!

Still shouldn’t be in the team.
It should be Etebo and Woods behind Bojan or Berahino, with Afobe up top.
He’s a nothing player.

I’ve been giving him stick like no other but hands down it is a complete 180 of a performance to Sheffield Wednesday!

I’ve been giving him stick like no other but hands down it is a complete 180 of a performance to Sheffield Wednesday! More like a 90 degrees turn in the right direction. He was an one incorrect onside away from getting another slagging off. I was calling from him to be replaced about 5 minutes before he scored, which saved him from another roasting and made me look like an idiot (which is fairly common so I am used to it!)

That's the problem now....I think he was marginally better today than he has been, but he has been really poor.
Maybe, he'll gather himself up and go on from here?

Maybe, he'll gather himself up and go on from here? I hope so too. He was great when he first came to Stoke on the heels of excellent World Cups performances and he scored fairly frequently. He was MOM at least once and I believe he was top scorer for awhile, picking up crumbs inside the box like he did today. Let’s hope he kicks on from here.
