And breathe, we were due tonight and deserved it. Still a way off where this squad can be it goes without saying, ok we're wasting chances but at least we're creating them, we kept a clean sheet (!) and just as important, finished strong. 'Strong' is my biggest thought from tonight and that's a good good feeling.
8* from me

7* from me no silly subs and switched things round when things were slipping and Swansea were getting on top. Gouranga.

8* was under real pressure but stuck with an unchanged line up. Just got in and I'm piss wet through.

7*
Ugly win but 3 big points.
Missed some sitters during the game, and almost lost 2 points at the death, but it's a huge 3 points and could galvanize us for Saturday.

8* stuck to his guns and got a much needed win, berahino sub spot on. Not the prettiest win but who cares, tonight was just about the three points now let's get a run going.

People posted beforehand they wanted an ugly win with a clean sheet. They got it, so 9 from me. Its ironic as weve played better and not won, but the result was crucial tonight. He cannot never get 10 from me whilst Bauer is left in the wilderness.

Rowett did well tonight. Especially with the substitute of Saido for Diouf. It changed the game in so far as we must have dominated the ball from 74 mins to 86 minutes.
A good 8+ from me

No complaints from me. The right starting line-up and an effective sub with Saido.
You can't beat a wet and windy Tuesday night in Stoke!

6* we started shite way too slow but to be fair to him he made a good sub by sticking 2 up front . Don't rate him one bit and wish we had the other manager tonight leading our team . Reminds me so much of Mark Hughes it's a bit depressing .

8* and pleased with Berahino substitution for Diouf on 75 mins. Much needed win. Mind you only just got back, still soaking wet and had to bang on the side of the fekkin bus as it was just starting to pull off without me!! A cold wet windy night in Stoke almost became a personal nightmare!! But Fank The Lord ........

A poor match, but 3 priceless points....Berahino substitution could have been made earlier, but that’s nitpicking.

The subs he made were appropriate if a little late.
Ought to have bought Etebo off around 65 mins - he was knackered and had had a poor game.
We still struggled to kill the game off which worries me.
This rating would've been a 5 if he would've bought fletcher on!***
EDIT:
I also wanted to say well done for properly fucking organising them this time out!

Should we be rating Davidson too? He never sat down all game he was barking as much if not more than Rowett.
Really pleased with a WIN!!
There were some real positives and negatives but I’m gonna focus on the positives for a change.
8 from me tonight the lads went till the end and we could have had 2/3

5 - against a scratch side, we were abysmal for half an hour, and even after that their goalkeeper didn't have to make a save.

8. He has to be commended for sticking to his guns and fielding an unchanged team, even, some including me, would have preferred Bojan or Berahino to Allen. He didn’t make any odd substitutions either.

9, good sub and also changed his mind about bringing Crouch on. 7 from me I thought he should have left Allen out (and he scores the winner!! ) and I got the shivers when I saw Crouch warming up....thank goodness he changed his mind about that!!

I couldn't understand the criticism of Saturday. I thought we played well barring some daft defending.
With that in mind I was happy with the starting lineup. The only change I would have made was Williams for BMI. Fair play to the manager for giving them another game.
Unlike some, I thought the balance of the midfield on Saturday was very good and all three performed well.
After 40 minutes of this game I thought the midfield looked a mile off the pace, barring Allen, partly down to Swansea's excellent tactics of going strikerless.
Credit must be given to Rowett for making a fair few subtle changes to the shape throughout the first and second half, namely the midfield constantly switching from an inverted three to a flat three to Allen being pushed forward. It moved Swansea around nicely.
I thought the Berahino sub changed things for us. He is naturally pulling deep and feels happier doing it than Afobe, who seems to prefer to go in behind. This sub created a problem for Swansea at a time when they were trying to push on themselves. They couldn't and we're caught between two stools.
I think it was this sub that was the catalyst for our strong finish.
Clean sheet.
8*

7* A poor match, but 3 priceless points....Berahino substitution could have been made earlier, but that’s nitpicking. Wouldn't say that's nitpicking, completely valid point when you're under pressure and they've made 3 subs. 10 minutes earlier and we would of had a fresh outlet.

7.
Im not sure why Diouf and Ince don't swap sides. Both play better on the opposite side for sure.
Piss poor game but better subs this time, looks like he's learning or maybe he's just reading this message board.

Scratch side ?.....it’s was their players from their squad covering injuries and formation changes We made 5 similar changes for the hull game but I’ll bet you wouldn’t have called ours a scratch side had we lost

First half an hour was League One quality, the last twenty minutes was Premier League.
When we play with urgency we look a good team, but too many times last night we looked devoid of ideas in the build up play. I thought we looked better when trying to play it on the floor, as opposed to the diagonal long balls to nobody we tried a few times.
I still feel like Rowett is trying to find an identity, but I'm quietly confident he'll do it sooner rather than later.
