That hurt. We were genuinely better bordering on almost good first half, and I felt like I was seeing a positive connection between the manager and what actually goes on on the pitch for maybe the second time this term.
But you've just got to be able to close out a two goal lead at this level, there's no excuse. And I know that was the worst problem inherited from Hughes but this far into the new regime that's no excuse either.
Wonder if I'll be the highest score again this week?
For the positives today, on balance:
6 from me

Watched it on stream so might as well have been there.
3 from me. Picked the right starting 11 with what we had available. After that, did nothing.

Shocking game management again. It was clearly evident that fresh legs were needed before the equaliser and the pace of Berahino.
Abysmal substitutions taking two of our best players off and replacing them with completely ineffectual veterans.
This guy has no clue. A long hard season ahead.
4/10

Couldn't do anymore than he did today. Subs were not what I would have made otherwise it would be a 10.
Should have been out of sight in the first half & diouf wants shooting for not squaring the ball for an easy tap in. That would have been 3-1 & game over.

7.
Set up his side well and we dominated for large parts. Some superb pass and move football in the first half.
Subs were a bit weird. I'd have been tempted to play someone in the hole to test their midfield as they pushed on for the equaliser.
If we play like that and cut out the individual errors more often then we'll shoot up the table.

For the positives today, on balance: 6 from me * if you were there please Has to be a maximum surely? at 2-1 I would have said 7. But he didn't do the subs. I called Allen off and Diouf off about 5 minutes before their goal and said we looked like we would mess this one up. We only had to get another goal. At very least see it out with clever play and no rash tackles. Allen played very well in parts and made very very costly mistakes in others, that isn't good enough. I ´have to give him a 5 -1 failure to prepare -3 all 3 subs -1 no fight.

Started very well, but should have played Bojan instead of Allen. Hopefully this will be last time he makes that mistake. As long as he persists with Pieters, he has to play Diouf to cover for for him (there's no one else until McLean returns). So his options are very limited. So I'd give him 6 for the first half and 0 for the second because he made the wrong substitutions (what the hell is Fletcher going to contribute instead of Etebo, unless he had a knock) and he made them too late to have any influence.
Overall 3

4.
abysmal subs.
even when winning, it was easy to them gaining confidence, and we could have taken a little heat out of the game.
The addition of Bojan to finish them off (he should have started) was far too late, and again, he was put out of position.
He didn't hook the main culprits of Diouf and Allen today who simply weren't up to scratch.
Crouch still not doing anything for us, and certainly shouldn't be in front of Saido. It should have been a straight swap (for me anyway) of Saido to Afobe much earlier.
Buying Woods has raised his score from 1 to 4. I thought woods was excellent, and I'd like to see more of him.

7. Set up right. It's not his fault Diouf and our defence is wank. We should have been 5 up before they equalised. He can't be blamed for the poor finishing and would probably want to fine the culprits but can't. How we can dominate for much of the second half without increasing our lead is down to the players on the pitch.

Is a point away from home against a team that have won their last 3 league games that bad of a result ?

He gets an 8 for putting out a side which mostly dominated the game and created lots of chances. The best football we've played this season.
He gets -4 for not making subs when he should have to protect the lead, and for making the wrong ones. It's not Rowett's fault the players didn't convert chances they should've done. It IS Rowett's fault that he didn't manage the game and the subs properly.

Is a point away from home against a team that have won their last 3 league games that bad of a result ? 5 from me. It is when we go 2-0 up, had we been 2-0 down and come back to 2-3 then Rowett would be getting all the plaudits. 6 from me, we played really well for most of the game but missed chances and poor defending cost us 2 points. We could have easily scored a few more today. I don’t blame Rowett for the missed chances and the mistakes at the back but the subs were very poor, Allen had one of his worst games in a Stoke shirt and bringing Fletcher on was pointless. Saido and Bojan should’ve come on around the 60 minute mark with Diouf and Allen going off. One injury and we suddenly seem very short, we really needed another winger.

6 - if you score 2 goals away from home you should win, he should have replaced certain defenders in the summer.
He'd have got an 8 if he'd have managed the game better and got Berahino or Bojan on when we bossed the game to get that all important goal.

It's a strange one .
Had we taken out chances it would have been an 8 , 9 even 10 , that we didn't isn't his fault.
Doing nothing though as we started to lose a foothold on the game definitely was though..and the subs after the equaliser were just mental.
So we end up drawing a game we were coasting in and finish with Allen , Fletcher and Crouch on the pitch.
It's a 4 from me..
