Absolute quality, always finds space and always wants the ball. Tried a few long passes that didn't come off tonight but other than that it was him or Ince for my mom. Like how vocal he is aswell can hear him sorting out players which we have needed for a long time.

The ginger ninja should be sitting in front of England's defence ahead of Dier or Henderson!!

His long passing is shite. He runs like he's got something stuck up his arse and he has the weirdest body shape I've ever seen for a professional athlete, let alone a footballer. I love him. Brilliant player

Spoke to a Shrewsbury fan the other day who said he only passed sideways and backwards and was surprised about the rave reviews he's getting.

Doesn’t get as far forward and doesn’t have the long range shot, but he reminds me of Kav.

He has good spacial awareness, reminds me of N’zonzi. Always makes himself an option to take the pressure off and always has space and time to release the ball.
He’s also an exceptional playmaker. He reads the game very well, never puts his teammates in a bind. Considers what options his teammates have before passing to them, so his passes always seem incisive.
Could speak all day about how good he is. Leadership, engine, foresight, pin-point passing. More difficult to come up with something he’s been bad at. Rowett has a good eye for a player.
6m for him is laughable. Watch us let him go on a free.

His confidence is calming amongst the utter shit that we have been serving up lately.
He always wants the ball too.
He has a great future,

Its no coincidence that results and especially performances have improved a lot since we signed him. Superb player.

He looks real class. He seems to have added an element of calmness within the team.
Having him sat in the middle has also allowed the defenders to stop hoofing it to Afobe, which for me is a massive plus.
Looks a real signing this lad, class act and exactly what we've been crying out for.

That will explain why Shrews fans dubbed him "the ginger Pirlo!" I think he's a cracking player, I'm only relaying what a lifelong Shrewsbury fan said. He said he wasn't sure if he could add the forward passing to his game but he clearly has. When he described his play I thought he was talking about Whelan.

Whelan did the job we needed very well, not replacing him was a bigger mistake by Hughes than most realise last season

Thank f**k we signed him. Although he probably played more bad passes than in his other games last night, it's so good to see somebody wanting the ball and just giving it simple without panicking. That kind of player gives others a boost as they know they can trust him.
He is a bit like Pirlo. He probably covers a load of ground because he's always on the move, yet he never seems to have to sprint.
That middle 3 last night, certainly in many games, could be the key for us.

Brilliant tidy player. He Reminds me of meself at that age minus the ginger wig and the milk bottle look! 😀

Seems to have that Kenny Daglish arse and hips, never seems to be pushed off the ball and protects it so well.

I like him and he'll do for me. He's an excellent player, a good link man, and an absolute bargain. But if Joe Allen or Eric Pieters had misplaced as many passes as Woods did last night then they'd be crucified on this board. But I don't expect players to get everything right every time.
OS.

Wasn't too sure about making him captain so early on but he's certainly embraced the role. It's great to see an actual organiser on the pitch, someone who never stops talking and trying to lead. It's always baffled me how Ryan will never get involved in that way.
It's his ability to retain possession that is his best attribute for me. Having someone to pick up the ball and pass it with confidence is great, but he's also shown that he has the ability to keep the ball when under pressure and come out of that situation with it, or to pass it out of trouble quickly. Excellent quick thinking and no panic under pressure at all.
The only negative to his game is those long passes which rarely reach the intended target. But that's not his main job anyway and for me, the positives far outweigh that single negative.

it's unusual for me to become a big fan of a player so quickly, but he's a really brilliant signing for the club. I think we can all only imagine what would have happened had we signed him 12 months earlier.
Let's not kid ourselves, he's going to get noticed by a big team in the next 18 months, so we better have inserted a very large clause in his contract.

A breath of fresh air, but needs someone alongside him when we are under pressure and he needs to cut out trying cross-field passes because he simply cannot do it.
