We’re 9 points off top and we should give up? 😂 9 points off top after 6 games is a terrible start. Not a total disaster either but what's going to change to enable us to get the roughly two points per game we need between now and Christmas to be in and around the play offs? A couple more defeats in the next three or four and were not a million miles away from fucking it up for the season already. To even get where Fulahm were last Christmas we need 30 points from the next 18 games and then come with a wet sail. It's pretty grim reading.

It is a shit start, no denying that but I’d rather be 9 points off the pace with 40 games to go than 20. When it clicks we’ll go on a mad run, hopefully the break did us good

Well quite a few seem to agree with me whilst the other half, probably just like they did last season will bury there heads in the sand and miraculously think things will improve. If one of the oiks who still think were ok please explain to me how things will improve in that defence. Trust me it wont, by the time we get to xmas and every decent striker with a semblance of pace or movement has stuck it in our net you might agree. I somehow feel you are right, but in order to not be totally depressed by it all, I will remain optimistic we somehow put it all together. Probably just setting myself for more disappointment but what the hell, that is just part of supporting any club especially Stoke!

People go on about teams like Fulham and Aston villa having a crap start to the season and then they suddenly go on this marvellous run to the play offs and promotion.dont let us kid ourselves we are not going to go on a run of results that suddenly send us up the table.we will be lucky to stay outside the bottom 3.we probably have the basis of a good side but until we start reading from the same sheet we will struggle to get results.

Our biggest problem is in defence. Woods and Etebo are excellent players. Afobe is a goal scorer, Ince is very decent. Yes we’ve struggled to date but we are a far better side than our position suggests. I guarantee come the end of the season we’ll be top half. Sheff Wed are in the top half of the table and we bossed them today.

We need to get through to January and be around mid table. Then we need to fuck Shawcross and BMI out of the side and get two new centre halves, replace Pieters and play offs here we come.

More positives than negatives from today imo, Woods and Etebo look great together, Afobe looks a lot shaper than he has done but as we all know the defence needs a lot of work, as it stands I don't think it will be until at least Jan unfortunately.

Balanced or not balanced, we took a squad which went down from the Prem by only 3 points, invested £50 million on it in the summer, these are telephone numbers compared to teams in the Championship, we should be top 6 minimum, it's as simple as that.

I think we will get stronger as the season goes on,you can see how unpredictable The championship is by yesterday's results.quite a few of the teams up top will fall away as injuries bite into small squad depth.yesterday some of our movement and passing was outstanding, our fitness is already noticeably better and the acquisition of woods makes us a far better team. The defence is The main concern though, once that is sorted I believe we will climb the table.i look forward to being in the top six by January and proving some of the snowflakes on here wrong. COYMP.

Yes I think we should be top 6. At the end of the season. He's still got to sort out a hopelessly slow defence though and hopefully in January he will go some way to solving it. My point definitely stands though, regardless of how many points we went down by our squad was bereft of any pace whatsoever and confidence, with a load of players who either didn't want to be here or who just aren't up to the job anymore. A lot of this, well the not up to the job part, is a bit of hindsight on a lot of people's parts including mine because I'd have expected, like most, that players like Pieters, Shawcross and BMI would have been just fine in this division, and I'm sure Rowett would have been thinking the same when he first came into the job. I still believe that Rowett is the right man for the job and the signs are there that he is starting to make a difference. The players really aren't helping him at all at the minute, well some of them anyway, and like I've always thought it's going to take time and at least two transfer windows to go some way to getting it right. Our defence is absolute wank with an ageing, injury prone Shawcross and a grossly overrated BMI at the heart of it being the two players who need to be replaced in January. The one criticism I would lay at Rowetts door is that he has wasted a loan with Williams, but I'm confident that he'll know what to do to sort things in January. Until then he has to find a way to try and stop us conceding 2 goals a game, and if he does we will soon be making our way up the table.

Our defending is abysmal and there is no way we are going up with this defence
I think the entire defence that relegated us , has to go
So Martina and three more are needed
One massive positive from yesterday , was Ryan woods , who gave the likes of etebo and afobe the chance to shine
I think players , who have got it in them , will shine with this guy around .Those that haven't need to jog on and the club need to be ruthless in getting rid of them , taking massive losses if need be .
I have not been a fan of GR , but fair play to him for ( seemingly??) Forcing the board into bringing Woods in , when they looked happy to drag their feet and see if we could manage without him .
If he can force shawcross and bmi out and get in a couple of up to speed centre half's, we might be in business
He might actually get the show on the road . I hope he is allowed to .
